  1. PaulK123 says:

The Leafs have enough good young dmen in White, Coliacovo, Kronwall, Harrison, and Woznewski, they can afford to package him for a good forward.

  2. LeafyMcLeaf says:

What PaulK said, plus Kaberle is only 30.

The Leafs should package him to get a winger.

  3. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

The Oilers and Lightning are desparate for D, but for vets not 5th-6th stringers like Bell.

  4. Aetherial says:

Kubina, Bell, Suglobov and 2nd ruodner to Tampa for Richards.

    Heheh

  5. tucksfan says:

althought it would be nice i dont see it happening

  6. LeafyMcLeaf says:

    I think he was joking….

  7. 92-93 says:

Tucker to Vancouver for Grabner and TWO 2nd round picks.

Bell and 4th rounder to Florida for Roberts (outbid Ottawa and others for him)

    Wellwood joins line-up in March

    Peca joins line-up in April

    fa-la-la-la

  8. thatleafsguy says:

Bell is better than just a 5, 6 guy as you put it.

  9. thatleafsguy says:

That's to much to give up for a 40 year old Roberts.

  10. 92-93 says:

don't forget, other and better teams will be bidding on him too (ottawa, buffalo for example). this seals the deal AND – more importantly – it appeases some of those who do not want Tucker to be traded.

its not too much. Bell is a 5-6 guy and a potential #4 D-guy (not likely though). Leafs already have an extra 4th rounder thanks to the Phoenix deal.

  11. leebrien21 says:

what about Bell to Florida for Roberts and a draft pick? . . .JFJ better act soon or the Sens will have snatched the only man that can get us to the playoffs! This move is crutial to playoff aspirations beacsue Roberts is THE MAN come playoff time and he plays well with Sundin, Tucker, as well as elevating the game of all those arround him with his work ethic and good habbits! i'm talking to you Bryan McCabe

  12. leebrien21 says:

i agree to the second part . . .Tucker is staying put . . .at least till july 1 :S

  13. 92-93 says:

well if Tucker is staying put – and he likely will – then there is no need for Roberts then … no need to trade a young guy like Bell for Roberts.

this deal only goes down if Tucker is traded.

Sens are rumored to part with defensive prospect Brian Lee for Roberts. i think Florida would likely trade him to Toronto for Bell and a pick because of the extra pick and because Bell has already proven he can be an effective two-way blueliner in the NHL … unlike Lee.

  14. mojo19 says:

Brian Lee isn't exactly a blue chip prospect, he's nothing special. Not that Bell is much better, but Bell is more valuable. I like the Bell for Roberts deal (if you even have to give up that much)

  15. bleedingblu says:

You mean Bell and a draft pick for Roberts. There is no doubt that Roberts is THE MAN come playoff time but I would still like to see another youth added….. a speedy  winger.

  16. leaflova says:

its not that much to give up if you thnk about it, we have alot of young defencemen on the marlies, like woz and kronvall

  17. baltic_thunder says:

Bell would look awesome as an Oiler.
