Leafs dealing Parenteau could go down to the wire
Will potential buyers wait to see if Parenteau is on the ice at the Air Canada Centre for Monday’s morning skate, some four and a half hours before the NHL trade deadline, before making their serious offers?
Or was the buying market for the Leafs winger softer than the team’s general manager might have thought?
Barring something happening in the dead of Sunday night — there was word later in the day that the New York Islanders had some interest in Parenteau — the movement of one of the most marketable of the Leafs trade assets could well go down to the wire.
And just what Lamoriello will be able to retrieve for Parenteau, who has revived his career somewhat with 16 goals thus far this season — appears to be the main order of business as the 3 p.m. deadline nears.
