Sanderson i'm not too sure of either. since the lockout he has been largely ineffective.
like i said in the other thread just posted, i think the leafs can be both buyers and sellers at the deadline and really be choosy on who to go after. younger skilled guys like Nagy are the first to come mind.
If I'm JFJ i'm probably looking at St. Louis, Phoenix, and Edmonton as my primary trade partners. i dunno why, i just have a gut feeling about these 3 teams and the Leafs at the deadline.]]>
Antropov to St. Louis in exchange for Petr Cajanek and a draft pick.
Why would the Leafs do this? First off, Cajanek is a Centre. (yes I know we have too many, but with Peca out due to injury I like the idea of bringing in a guy with an offensive upside – a point every other game or so) He's only 31. He's affordable. Antropov has a great upside, but it's discouraging to see him miss so many games due to injury.
Another player I'd be curious to see in the Blue and White is Geoff Sanderson. I'm not sure who we'd sent back to Philly (Belak?), but Philadelphia is one of the NHL bottom-feeders this season, so anything is possible. Why Sanderson? Speed. Experience. Someone to gel with guys like Steen, Kilger, Stajan, Pohl and Devereaux. Downside? Age and price tag. (I'm sure he's much more affordable that he would have been 8 years ago)
In case some of you are wondering, I'm writing this post from the perspective of what might actually happen… What would interest me if I were JFJ? And what's realistic?]]>
