I think a huge trade is coming this week.

I think if a few more teams start kicking the tires on Kessel the Leafs will get an offer they an live with. I know everyone including me wants max value, but if it’s decent it might be worth just moving on.

That’s the thing. If we fall short on value by say the equivalent of a 2nd round pick then I say take the deal. Maybe counter by throwing in a NHL body like Robidas at half price or a longer shot like Biggs to get that max value back.

Saying that we left maybe a second round pick on the table or “had to eat $1.5M for two years” to get max value or both is completely worth jumping on especially if we can get a 2015 1st.

I can’t wait for the draft. Let’s go go go. I wonder how long NHL15 will update their rosters or if I will have to try and do it manually. Lol

I think the ship has sailed on Biggs. His contract will be up next year and he will likely be not qualified. He has zero value irregardless of his age.

He will only be traded if the Leafs need to open up a contract spot as a team can only have 50 contracts on the books. Much like that trade that sent Carter Ashton and Dave Broll to TB.

He is not going to be considered a valued piece in a trade.

I think Biggs has more value than that. Like 2016 3rd-ish value. I could see the Leafs walking from him but personally I wouldn’t. I’d take the contract space for the chance he turns into a 4th line player.
