Probably, but I feel like Burke would be more loyal than than most GMs to any coach, unless he truly believed it was time to move on.

Burkes biggest problem as a GM IMO, is that he is loyal to a fault. So add that to him and Wilson being buddies, BAMMM, there is your problem. I think he is giving Wilson too many chances to succeed based on a friendship.

Why the ***** is Burke so damn high on Wilson? Seriously, is he seeing something I'm not? He acts like he's the end all and be all of coaching. I'd give Wilson a C+/B- since coming to TO. Yeah, he's media savvy, but hasn't produced much in the way of improvement considering all the players that have been thrown his way. Ugh.

I dunno, big risk for what he brings and the contract. Yeah, he was good in philly, but he had all kinds of weapons around him and they played a loose run-and-gun style. I think he was over-valued and PHI was good to move him when they did. I'd be bummed out if he came to TO.

Maybe if CLB had signed him for a mil or so more per year MTL would have traded for him.

If we got Carter, I would like to put him on another line than Kessel and Lupul to spread out the offense, but I think that they could mesh.

I think the idea that Kessel is a pure goal scorer is a misconception. He is a shoot first player, and given his shot I wouldnt have it any other way, but the guy can also set up plays like a mother*****er. He may not have the best vision, but when he hits the blueline with speed he opens up so much room for Lupul. Throw Carter into the mix and you could have Kessel gaining the line, and if he doesnt have a shot, setting up Carter (whose shot is just as good), all while Lupul drives the net looking for a rebound or a tip.

Plus the contract is long, but seeing some of the contracts thrown around for high end goal scorers is 5.2 million really so bad?
