You have got to be the most uneducated fan on here!

Do you even realize that most draft picks don't pan out cause it is a huge leap from junior to the NHL and that they aren't even fully developed to be judge on how well they will be? So it is doesn't matter if they are drafted or not. At least with college free agents these players have developed and matured so you can assess their skill set properly. And what is it costing the Leafs by signing these guys? Nothing!!! its win-win for the Leafs.

Chipchura a good prospect? It shows how you rate Montreals prospects with complete rose colored glasses. The guy comes from my neck of the woods and he is a career minor leaguer. He hasn't even produced a point per game in junior nevermind the AHL. All of the prospects are a waste for the Habs cause they tend to lack toughness, so it will be a while before they go anywhere even with so called "cupbored of prospects".......and it is cupboard not cupbored kid

I can't imagine a more clean hit than the Grabovski hit on Markov. That's an absolute joke if you think that's boarding. It's not even in the same league as what Kostopoulos did to VanRyn, or anything that the Kostitsyn's get away with in every single game. Give your head a shake. Even the announcer's could find no fault with the hit.

Yea, Grabovski did eventually spear him, but you know what? When the refs don't defend the players who are on non-playoff teams, and they just let the other team take liberties, slash, hook, board, cross-check (even in the face) and high-stick with no calls, then yea, Grabovski has no choice but to stand up for himself.

As Don Cherry says, "you wouldn't as a human being tolerate that stuff being done to you," so why should it be okay on the ice?

The Laraque incident is a wash, because Laraque could have been given about 3 interference calls, and a charging call on the same play. Again, Kubina as an Assistant Captain, and good teammate, cannot let the refs dictate what happens to his players. You can't let Laraque go around running rookies uncalled, and then stand by and let him fight someone grossly out of his league. That's just ridiculous. Laraque is a joke, and doesn't belong in the league. He's just way too dumb. There are smarter door knobs.

The refs non-calling the Kubina step-in is more an acknowledgement by them that they should not have let the situation come to that.

Again, listen, this isn't a shot against the habs (except Laraque personally, because I think he's literally retarded), it's just a breakdown of the events in that particular game. I'm sure you will see the same bias happen against the Habs if they were to run up against Pittsburgh, Chicago or Washington in the playoffs. But I just don't see how it isn't clear that the league plays favorites nowadays with how brutal the officiating is.

Oh, and you are of course right about the season series. I thought there had only been 5 games played so far between them, and that next Saturday was also a Habs/Leafs season finale. I forgot about one of their earlier encounters.

Still, you should have owned that season series. We were supposedly the worst team in the league according to you, with no prospect depth or current depth. A tied season series is a win for the Leafs in my book.

Bottom line, neither the Leafs or the Habs have any hope of winning the cup this year (Leafs already out, habs soon to follow) so why even argue over little things?

We can have some good debates if either of us puts together a legit competitor, and maybe we meet in the playoffs, that would be something, and that woudl really kick the rivalry into high gear.

infact if you go by the goals for and goals against in the season series cam you guys lost the season series getting out scored 18-16!

if you want proof hre's the scores of each of the games and dates that they were played:

saturday oct.11 habs 6 leafs 1
saturday nov.8 leafs 6 habs 3
thursday jan.8 habs 6 leafs 2
saturday feb.7 leafs 5 habs 2
saturday mar.21 leafs 5 habs 2
saturday apr.4 habs 6 leafs 2

so those are all the scores from the season series between the 2 teams and if you add that up you see that we(the habs0 out score you 18-16 and that would give us the season series! but the the scores mean nothing the wins are what matter and it was 3-3 !

you guys aren't and didn't win the season series! it was 3-3 and each team won by 4 or more goals! there was no shoot out wins or ot wins by either team this year so nobody won the season series! now that we made that clear let's grt onto the game! you talk about bad officiating! well when laraque was beating the crap out of harrison and kubina jumped in that's an automatic game misconduct for 3rd man in! but because it was in toronto and on hockey night in canada they don't call that conviently!the hit on markov by grabmyasski was a boarding penalty right call made there it was a hit from behind no worse than the hit that kostopolous did to van ryn!i agree that the league is a joke on some nights very inconsistent officiating !grabmyasski actually speared plekanec and got caught for it again the right call was made!

Blake strikes me as being pretty judgmental of young talent. It's as if it's below him to be paired with a rookie like Hanson. Moore didn't make Blake a better player, he just made Blake realize that he was better suited to his role when he's trying to make those around him better.

Blake should be taking Hanson under his wing, but instead shuns him.

I wonder if Burke's opinion of Blake is changing now, as the season winds down. The only Leafs I'm intent on keeping around are Kulemin, Schenn, Mitchell, Toskala, White, and maybe Stajan and Hagman. I wouldn't be sorry to see anyone else go.
