Leafs sign David Ling

   The Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday signed right wing David Ling to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Ling, 32, played last season with Moscow Dynamo in the Russian Super League. In 42 games he collected 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points, and added 91 penalty minutes. Ling has played in 93 career NHL games with the Montreal Canadians and the Columbus Blue Jackets, recording four goals and eight points, along with 191 penalty minutes.

This will be Ling’s second tour of duty with the Maple Leafs organization. During the 2004-05 season, he led St. John’s, the Maple Leafs’ former AHL affiliate, in scoring with 88 points on 28 goals and 60 assists, along with 152 penalty minutes.
