I am not opposed to dealing Lupul, though I love how much he has embraced being a Leaf, where lots of guys don’t. I would not to sound greedy want a return worth making the loss of his presence worth t. He is a good player just bad luck injury wise. I do wonder what he would be worth though. Rumor has the Habs interested, I know lafleur is going nuts thinking he is garbage, but if he goes and is healthy he can be a difference maker.

if he do trade for him(which i hope the god) bergevin doesn’t ,and i hope the leafs asking price is too high that it’ll cause bergevin to go elsewhere…this guys is not worth picking up he breaks a toe nail and misses 35 games! he’s just brutual…. he’s not worth the albross of the contract he’s signed h’s not worth 5 milion dollars and i personally think he couldn’t crack our top 6 because he’s to injury prone….if the leafs want to him and bergevin does take him offer them christian thomas and nothing more if they take it well then they do if they get greedy and try and ask for more walk away and let them choke on that contract

You see this is my problem with you. You go out and trash the Leafs players while praising the bowel movements the Habs make. I can understand if you don’t want Lupul because of his injury history. That’s fair and completely understandable but when you say “all I would offer is Christian Thomas’ then you look like an idiot. Basically you don’t want his junk of a contract but take some useless piece I won’t miss and I’ll take him off your hands.

If you truly believe Lupul isn’t worth the risk then say that and stick to it. I may have respected your opinion if you did, at least it would have been honest not you just being a troll.

Lol, how you can in the same sentence try to get Lupul in a trade to having us “choke on that contract” is just sad, funny but sad.

Leafs need to trade Phaneuf, Kessel, Bozak and Lupul yesterday so we can do what with that 25 million in cap space? Have you seen the UFA market because that’s where they’ll spend spend spend.

They’re not going to sit on 25 million and just pick up darling 1 year money puckers.

The Leafs are not spending in free agency…Spending is what got them in this mess.

Hopefully Nonis isn’t in charge come free agency so he won’t spend spend spend on UFAs. But Having the cap space gives them an opportunity to pick up a decent prospect/draft picks by taking on a bad contract.

They shouldn’t spend the cap until something worth spending cap on appears. Since that won’t be in free agency they’ll hopefully spend the cap on whatever young core they are able to acquire with high picks in the next two drafts.

If they have significant cap space next year they can be flexible with deadline deals and maximize the returns they get.

I don’t know how anyone can be attached to this core. It is utter trash.

Agreed, I think we will see a change in how money is thrown at players. I wouldn’t mind taking on salary in small doses in the future to acquire assets if it helps long term.

So what do you think if he stays healthy plays games with good effort like against the jets, Lupul would net us? It seems they want to trade him, not that I completely agree they should as we will need vet players and he more than any other Leaf has embraced being one and all that comes with it!!
