I do not want or care to get any of those players except for Franzen but forget about it.

Is Parise going to come at a lower price then Ryan and Getzalf? If Lam doesn't get him signed then he is going to be asking for a lot, but I think a lot of GM's will say "screw you, why would I pay that much if I can get him in the off-season without giving away any assets". So unfortunalty Lam may have to lower his price, but I am sure there will be some conditional picks in there.

I am more than happy to offer two firsts and a second for parise, exactly what we did for Kessel right? but here is the twist, boston got a 2nd overall, 9th overall and a 32nd overall pick for Kessel. If the leafs aquire Parise and worse case lose in the first round than the devils will only get back a 15th to a 22nd overall pick, and 45th to a 53rd overall pick in this years draft and possibly a 20th to a 25th overall pick next years draft. So sounds the same on paper but in reality it's much less value then Kessel's deal, and Lam might argue that, which is fair, but even though I am only willing to through in another average roster player or prospect.

No way the mule goes anywhere. Army's injury proneness surprises me. Last year I heard a stat that the Leafs won something like 75% of the games he played in before he went down long term. Doesn't seem to be the case this year. He kind of reminds me of Domi: not going to put up good numbers, but plays to the bone every night.

I'd love Clutterbuck, the other two as well, I suppose. Again though, too much of a jam up in the bottom 6. Toughness is good, but unless we ship out on or two of those guys, what's the point?

yeah we would definitely have to add, which in my opinion is just not worth it. But forget Clutterbuck and assume it is a Clutterbuck/Armstrong type player for Lombardi straight up. It would make us stronger but not better, although if the salary is much cheaper than I say do it, give us some more cap space.

I think we'd have to add pretty significantly to lombardi to get clutterbuck.. Could be wrong though.

I'd be down to add a prospect to armstrong to get clutterbuck… Don't know why they'd do it though, I think he's a fan favourite. I agree though, you don't want too many armstrong-type players.

they would definitely fit better on the 3rd line over Lombardi but I dont really see it as an improvement on our team. If it would be Lombardi for Clutterbuck+ then I'd say do it and flip that '+' with other assets for that top line center we need.

Interesting Steve. I also made a Colby comparison down there...

I think we could use a couple guys like that though. If we could somehow flip let's say Lombardi for a similar calibre player who has more size, then I think it would be a great move.

Interesting list. I wanna point out that Johan Franzen has like a decade left on his contract, and also his cap hit comes in at just under $4 mil per season. Hell, I'd love to trade for him, but he's one of Detroits top 5 players, and one of the best big game playoff performers in the NHL. So he probably isn't available.

Clutterbuck, Kobasew or Brouwer are all fine players. None of them would be a "top 6 fwd" but they all fit a need for size, especially since Colby is made of glass, we could use 1 or 2 big forwards.

yeah unless the asking price is a combination of mid-level prospects and mid to low picks then I have no interest in acquiring a Colby Armstrong type player. No point giving up talent for size unless that size has first or second line talent.

Well since I don't wanna get beat up by Boston all the time, every night I go to bed hoping Wendel finds the fountain of youth……lol. Some say he was overrated, but thre + thirty goal season, one 40+, and a bunch over 20, plus man could he fight, hit and just demended respect…..WARRIOR, he was.
