Let the chant begin at MSG

Newsday and nhl.com report:

Mike Keenan has contacted Glen Sather about taking over the Rangers coaching position maybe as soon as after the all-star break.Keenan is already going to be at MSG on Wednesday as part of the pre-game celebration to retire the number of the great Mike Richter. I really don’t know how good of a move this would be to hire him for a team with some of the players they have, but let’s get real : a change is needed for this team badly, Sather doesn’t get through to them, and they need some sort of stability behind the bench, other than a guy that makes excuses about injuries, they need accountability and maybe he’s the guy to bring it? You never know, but I say that Sather should give him a shot.

He could be telling the truth, he could be lying. Bobby Clarke said he had no interest what-so-ever in Mike Comrie, vehemently denied it too.

    Who knows.

Well your nickname on here wouldn’t imply that you’re a Devils fan.

My buddy Sean calls him that too.

So 0-0 Pitching duels win championships? Nope, not unless someone comes up with a timely homerun or the offense steps up at the plate and gets men on in scoring position, that is offense. Good pitching wins, not pitching alone. Good defense and goaltending in hockey wins, not alone. New Jersey’s offense was good enough to win last year. Jeff Friesen, Jamie Langenbrunner, and John Madden all had a good postseason offensively, as well as in their own end.

I know what you’re trying to say, but the way you worded it makes no sense. Bretzky’s right.

Well, if it is tampering, then I don’t get why the NHL hasn’t taken action yet.

Whatever the case may be, there’s been a shakeup needed in NY for a long time now, and unfortunately going on 7 years later, it’s still needed.

First 3 months of the season, when we were in 5th place.

Camby is a good player, he played good for us. He should have been an all-star some of those years, but after 2000, they didn’t play like an all-star team, or anything close to it. Houston is a great shooter and has good moves, on a contender, he’d be an all-star. The Knicks are just like the Rangers, the Mets too. They all need to start over.

Leetch, outstanding game? Sorry, that’s not gonna fly with me. Chubarov wanted to come out like a big bad guy, but Simon showed him who’s boss. And once Simon nailed Ruutu, he calmed down too. That’s what Chris Simon needs to do.

Exactly Mik, great hockey. All the games I watch them play on Center Ice are incredible. Some of the best games I’ve watched all year. St. Louis is another team (probably the best) that doesn’t play trap. Throughout all their injuries, and not playing the trap, they’re in 9th place in the west where the competition is scarce due to Colorado’s and Detroit’s and Vancouver’s eating it up. This is a team I love, and love to watch. If only the Rangers would play like them.

    Hell… if Joel Quenneville gets fired… 🙂

Right now, anything is better than Sather.

As for the boobirds, for the most part they’re hypocritical. Their opinions change like underwear.

    Well said, I like it.

Keenan whips these players into shape, and makes them work hard. If they shut their ears on Keenan due to the fact that he actually works them, it’s a true sign of greed, cowardice, a lack of heart, and playing only for the money.

Gretz’s post sums it up pretty well, but to answer your question, i played hockey for my highschool’s varsity hockey team for all 4 years (goalie), and I play basketball, hockey, and tennis regularly. Something wrong with tennis?

You know its bad when even Devils fans are tired of seeing the Rangers loose. It don’t get much worse than that. How many more years of loosing till the Islanders fans start rooting for us?

    Sorry… Just kidding.

    Reading Comprehension 101.

What post did you read? Where did I ever see “when not slumping” in reference to the Rangers?

I said Dunham and Markkanen, when not slumping should be more than good enough goaltending for this team. Get a fucking clue. Learn how to read. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.
