Hopefully for us Wings Fans Lidstrom sign for about 8 mil because he can easily get 8.8 max but hes not that selfish. With him only takin 8 that should be enough to get Osgood Shanny and a goalie like Gigure,Nabokov Biron and Toskala.

WOW this would be great for Detroit i just did some calculations this would mean only about 6.7 mil a year he could easilt get the 8.8 mil in a new place such as Florida and L.A. Enough said Nabakov or Toskala are Coming to Detroit

One of the things I like best about the Red Wings organization is their organizational loyalty. Players like Yzerman and Lidstrom rarely looked to Free Agency, and “most” good players were traded away by the organization rather than from testing the market on their own.

All of that probably comes from being a perrenial winner/favorite though, lol.

    osgood should be left behind.

No kidding…I just wish Havlat, Chara and Redden had that vision too…then again, rumours have Redden signing anytime now, and at a discount compared to what he would have gotten in the open market…

Osgood will sign for around 1 mil, not back for a backup with 2 cup rings, holds the Islanders record for wins in 1 season and is currently 17 all time in wins, and should end up in the top 10 by the end of his career. He has more wins and cup rings then Hasek. I’d pay a million to have that kinda experience backing up a starter.
