if you've payed any attention to the rivalry that has been brewing between detroit and the avs then you know know why this is so. Look, detroit is very limited to the teams they can trade cujo to (no trade clause) the fact that he can invoke his no trade clause very much limits detroit to which team they can trade him to. Its been reported already that if he has to make a choice, it'll be with St. Louis since he's played there before.

Anyway, I myself would like colorado to get him so that when playoff time comes, .....NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!

same with the blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to hear the same excuses you're giving right now.....

Look injuries, un lucky breaks are all part of playoff hockey. winners don't make excuses,...........whinners do.

I'M JUST WONDERING WHAT MAKES COLORADO AND VANCOUVER A NO NO BUT ST.LOUIS OK. I KNOW YOUR NOT GOING TO TRY TO TELL ME THAT VANCOUVER IS A BETTER TEAM THAN ST.LOUIS JUST BECAUSE OF LAST YEAR. IF SO THAN WAKE UP YEH THEY BEAT THE BLUES BUT THERE GOON MAY KNOCKED OUT TKACHUCK THREE WEEKS OR SO BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS WITH A LATE HIT AND HE WAS STILL STUGGLING TO GET HIS TIMMING BACK AND PRONGER MISSED THE ENTIRE .REGULAR SEASON AND MCINNIS MISSED GAMES THREE , FOUR , AND FIVE . I'M NOT SAYING THATS WHY THE BLUES LOST BECAUSE THEY STILL SHOULD HAVE WON, BUT THATS A LOT OF TALENT TO BE MISSING.BUT ANYWAY I WOULD APPRECIATE AN EXPLANATION IF YOU DON'T MIND. THIS POST WAS SUPPOSE TO BE RESPONING TO J2DIGIT NOT TO THE ORIGINAL MAD MIKE POST.

Eventhough I'm a Ranger fan, I know the Islanders pretty well. I know that Mike Milbury would never pull that trade off, and would never think of it. He's too busy penny-pinching. They won't sign Slava Kozlov or Ray Whitney to compliment Yashin on the wings... for about $3-$4 mill... what makes you think that they'll get Cujo who has 2 years left on his contract at $8 mill a piece? Detroit's not going to eat most of his contract either in that trade, they can call the shots because the Islanders need Cujo more than Detroit needs to get rid of him.

I'm really glad that KingHenry and myself are the only 2 that might just have some knowledge of the Islanders. Knowing damn well that there is absolutley no way in hell that Yashin is going to the Red Wings or anything team for that matter. That was a RUMOR MADE UP BY SOMEONE ON THE WEBSITE!

I'm pretty sure that Yashin would not be traded. Yashin is their franchise player (with his contract he better be). If the Islanders did trade Yashin it would prove, in my mind, that the Islanders ownership is not committed to this team.

The Islanders would probably be better off without Yashin (provided they acquire an adequate replacement). What a huge idiotic contract he is under, from his and the ownerships perspective. Yashin basically signed his life away and the Islanders allowed him to sign a contract that threatens the prgress of the team. His salary hampers the Islanders from making improvements through free agent signings. Yashin is a big investment that has not matured, and since the Islanders have showed that the team is ran as a business investment it would only make sense that they cut their loses now. Meaning the trade is plausible.

Riddle me this:

Why would the islanders fire a winning coach, and promote one of the most succesful coaches in the AHL if they weren't going to give DiPietro the job? Stirling coached him for two years, and made him a viable NHL goalie in his system.

Next, why would the wings pick up 8 years of Alexei Yashin when they have the CBA to worry about?

Finally, the isles are where Yashin wants to be! He would bitch and moan 'till the cows come home if he got traded (remember Ottowa--he's good at that!)

Yashin became better and better as Peca got better and better--he's healthy, Milbury loves him--this deal doesn't make any sense for either team

one of his criteria to accept to waive his no trade clause was: to go to a team that has a chance on winning the cup. Vancouver is maybe a couple of players away from getting to the Stanley cup, and remember that they are fast running out of patience for Dan Cloutier, look at what they did, they signed him for only one year. Last chance maybe to redeem his self.

But he's not going there directly if ever from Detroit., Ken is much to smart to let him end up there to haunt him later on. But he could still end up there after Detroit trades him. (I mean after you trade the guy, you no longer have control of the team you traded the guy too right.)
