Malkin suspended for semifinals

According to tsn.ca…

Russian forward Evgeni Malkin has been suspended for tomorrow’s semifinal matchup against Finland for trying to kick Vincent Lecavalier in yesterday’s game against Canada with 61 seconds left.

This is a pretty big piece of news to come out of Torino, that may be overlooked because of all of the noise being made about the US and Canada being knocked out in the quarterfinals. I have to admit, I did not even catch this kick attempt. Malkin didn’t have a great game against Canada, but he is clearly one of the top Russian talents. Russian players such as Alex Ovechkin, Alexei Yashin and Viktor Kozlov have to continue their solid play in order for the Russians to advance. The Finland players must be a very happy bunch right now, as this is a blow to Team Russia. Any thoughts?
