Brodeur won the Vezina and Jennings WITHOUT Scott Stevens in the lineup, with TWO ROOKIE D-men playing for most of the season, and with Rafalski slwoing down due to injury towards the end of the season, as well as helped the team set an NHL record of lowest goals allowed in a season.
for who i would rather have on my team...

1. Jarome Iginla (brings a more all-around game)

2. Peter Forsberg (sure he's always injured, but this guy is absolutely incredible)

3. Mike Peca (doesnt matter really one or the other, but peca has shown some serious offense in the past, maybe he can find that again.)

4. Martin St. Louis (no contest, the nhl's leading scorer against some kid)

5. Jeremy Roenick (dont like either really, but roenick seems to bring more intensity)

6. Dany Heatley (take the canadian over the russian any day, but even if they were both canadian, heatley's got the much better all around game, its heatley by a long shot)

7. Marian Hossa (hossa, guerin shows no loyalty to anyone but himself, dont need that kind of a player on your team)

8. Vinny Lecavalier (much younger, and he really impressed me with some of the moves he pulled off during the playoffs this year)

9. Rick Nash (finally one that i need to think about... i'll go with nash cuz he's a former knight)

10. Michael Ryder (im a habs fan, i gotta go with ryder, besides ryder was much better than hunter was this year, who knows who will be the best in the future though)

11. Pavel Bure (even with the injuries, i love watching him play, im not huge on defense, so i like the pure scorers)

12. Scott Neidermayer (i just think niedermayer has the better mix of offense and defense, gonchar is better offensively, but niedermayer is the best in the game right now)

13. Zdeno Chara (another tough one, i like what aucoin's done this year, but how can you go against the insane size of chara, btw i loved him tossing mccabe around)

14. Wayne Gretzky (crosby still hasnt even played a single game in the nhl, there's no contest here)

15. Patrick Roy (patrick is hands down the BEST goalie of all time)

16. Roberto Luongo (belfour is great, has been great throughout his career, and even a year ago i would have definately picked belfour here, but this past year was incredible for luongo)

17. Andrew Raycroft (got to see this kid quite a bit cuz he played against montreal in the playoffs, he really impressed me and definately wasnt the reason boston lost, besides dipietro has still done absolutely nothing)

18. Miikaa Kiprusoff (i think kari will end up being better, but he still has a lot to prove having only played a couple games at the nhl level)

19. Joe Thornton (even though he was whining about his injury and wasnt able to produce at all in the playoffs, i've got to go with big joe... montreal's mvp :P)

20. Mark Recchi (always been a fan of recchi, and palffy's always injured)

21. Alexei Kovalev (kovalev is one of the top 5 players in the league based on pure skill, maybe even top 2, yashin is an asshole, thats all there is to it)

Iginla (strength, and speed) Peter Forsberg (best hockey player when's he's not broken) Peca (in his prime) St. Louis (oozes offence talent) Tkachuk (cause he's verifiably insane) Heatley (cause he does everything) Hossa (more talent, harder working. shoulda seen him against toronto, he was ottawa) Lecavalier (he's got everything... and he's huge) Nash (bigger, stronger. Tanguay doesn't like the rough going) Ryder (he's tough as nails) Bure (in his day. speed incarnate) Neidermeyer (because he plays defense. gonchar's only offensive. Neidermeyer can do everything and more.) Chara (he's huge) Tie (Crosby's a tough guy, and Gretzky could do every move ever thought to man) Roy (Brodeur is vulnerable when you take away his precious defence, as we saw this year) Loungo (cause he's the best goalie) Undetermined (You don't know how good Raycroft is as he's a positional goalie and relies on his defence a lot, we'll see next year.) Undetermined (haven't seen enough of Lehtonen, played well down the stretch though) Thornton (when he's healthy he's among the best there is) Palffy (though this one is tough, Palffy was it this year, until he got hurt. Meanwhile Rechhi is the model of consistencey.) Kovalev (Yashin doesn't care, and he's a wuss.)
