Matvichuk placed on waivers
various sources are reporting that the Devils have placed the D-man on waivers. He will cost a team $1.39mil if they want to pick him up.

He was once a pretty good D-man with Dallas. Goes to show the average lifespan for a good defenceman in the NHL is now about 32 years of age.
Matvichuk can still play. Someone should pick him up.
I see Columbus picking him up.
He was a good d-man a few years ago…but injuries and Lou messed up his career.
Actually if someone picks him up they're only on the hook for half of his salaray. So half of 1.3. Somewhere in the 650k range. Not a bad idea for maybe the flyers… who could use someone like him to replace Fitzpatrick… Who knows he could even battle for a roster spot, or the flyers could bench cote and roll 7d… but i doubt stevens and co think like i do…
Actually, i think the Avs should pick him up. They've got a ton of cap space and no Forsberg contract to worry about anymore (*tears* Foppa is finally done…I'm heartbroken).
When was he originally waived? Haven't seen anything so far this season. Didn't know he was subject to re-entry waivers at this point…
You know what you're right.. when they try to call him up is when someone can claim him and pay half.
The Leafs should pick this guy up. His price is cheap and you can play him with McCabe to make up for all of his mistakes.
Rotoworld.com shows it. I wonder if a team like Atlanta might not pick him up, they can use all the dmen they can get
