McCabe is probably one the best offensive defencman in the league, and although his track record isnt that good, he is pretty good defensivily. We should definetly trade him, hes to valuable to have on the second line especially when we can get guys Satan or Hunter. If we trade McCabe we dont have enough defencman to fill his spot which is why we should make another trade. Although Carlo Colaiacovo has a bright future, it seems that Ian White, Anton Stralman and Tomas Kaberle all look better than him. I have heard that Nick Boynton of the Pheonix Coyotes could be on the move and with his speed, good shot and great defensively he could be a real bonus for the leafs. Obviously there would be minor players added in each trade like 3rd rounders or average prospects.

the lineup would be set for a long time and with the extra money we could land someone big at the deadline, like Marion Hossa if the Thrasher keep struggling.

Blake Sundin Steen
Antropov Wellwood Ponikarovsky
Tucker Stajan Hunter
Kilger Pohl Bell

Kaberle Kubina
Boynton White
Gill Stralman

Toskala Raycroft Pogge Clemmenson

This is a very good team, great offensivily and good on defence and im sticking to it , good goaltending

GLG

believe me, someone wants it. A better question is, what team is good enough (in terms or city, calibre team, etc.) for McCabe to waive his clause for, if any?

I notice how pretty much all leaf fans will give McCabe away for nothing..if that is the case what makes you think any other team wants his $5.75 million dollar shot?

I too will rejoice the day Bryan McCabe parts ways with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Personally, I do think he has the potential to return to his post-lockout form, although this would require significant risk and salary cap space on behalf of the New York Islanders. It seems that McCabe is in desperate need of a change of scenery (away from the demanding Toronto Maple Leafs crowd), where his play and salary will not be as highly scrutinized; New York is definitely the place to accomplish that. As well, New York has seemingly made a recent habit of acquiring controversial players and signing them to ludicrous contracts (Guerin, Comrie, DiPietro, etc.), lending some credibility to the proposed rumor. I hope this is the case, although, unlike the last post, I believe I will most likely consume my regular dinner, with a prayer both at the beginning and end, thanking god for allowing Bryan McCabe to be moved.
I immediately thought the same thing, can you (the author) hook me up with a link?

And I think the leafs need to fill up the draft pick cupboard a bit so this would be the best thing for them to give back.
