Agreed on Yashin. The only fault about signing him was the 10 year deal, but aside from that, you can’t say the Islanders wern’t a better team after they got him. Sure, it looks like a bad move now, but it wasn’t at the time, it helped them have a good year and make the playoffs, and it’s not like Milbury could’ve passed out $100 million to one player without the owner approving it or suggesting it himself.
Getting Peca that year was a good move to. See, there were some bright spots. But Peca wasn’t the same after the Tucker hit, Yashin got lazy, and everything that was looking so good for the Islanders fell apart only one year later.
