Montreal Scouting the Avalanche

Just one Eastern NHL team scouting the Avs-Panthers game tonight…

And that team is the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs have really been scouting the Avs heavily this season, despite only having one more game with them this season. Do they want those two points that bad? Or are they scouting Avs players for a possible trade pitch? I think it’s the latter. Names they are looking at? Probably Paul Stastny at No. 1, followed by John Mitchell at No. 2.

What does Stastny have that will vastly improve MTL?

      • lafleur10 says:

he has veteran leadership and can be a solid 1st ,2nd line center he also has size and you can’t have enough strenght down the middle if he got him our centers would be galcheyuk, eller plekanec, stastny we would possibly be the deepest in the league down the middle it would also allow us to pay galcheyuk on the wing for abit until we trade plekanec

Ah the towering 6’0 Paul Stastny haha. Stastny is a solid player, but he hardly brings size.

That would be solid depth though. It’s no Crosby-Malkin, but it’s good. His cap hit is too high though. Keep in mind Subban could be making 8+ next year.

yeah he’ll have the cap space to sign stastny if he got him plus subban gionta won’t be back ,markov won’t be back that’s 11 million right there freed up he would be a good addittion and would provide solid scoring and center ice depth

Not to be rude but how is that the deepest centre line up in the league?

  3. lafleur10 says:

well if we got statsny we’d have statsny, plekanec, eller, galcheyuk.white down the middle that would be every deep and potentially could give us 4 20= goal centers

Last time Montreal and Colorado traded, the guy traded to the Avs won two Cups and a Conn Smythe.

This looks more like an attempt to cure post traumatic stress disorder.
