More Players are on Waivers today.

According to TSN, the following players were put on waivers today:

Tampa Bay – Norm Milley

Phoenix – Philippe Sauve

Philadelphia – Turner Stevenson

Atlanta – Rico Fata

Chicago – Andy Hilbert

In my opinion, Sauve and Fata will be picked up by the end of the day.

Phillip Sauve gets picked up by Retoriot

    Turner Stevenson by Detroit.

  2. FlyerzFan12 says:

as a flyers fan, i can only hope that turner stevenson gets picked up by someone, but its very doubtful, gets paid too much for a such a crappy player

  3. vdub says:

please anyone take stevenson he does not even belong on the phantoms let alone the flyers.

  4. afanofthelakings says:

with Huet having two bad stars (philly and leafs) should Montreal pickup Sauve ?

  5. afanofthelakings says:

    Retoroit ?

I highly doubt it, and I wouldn’t really want it as a Habs fan

  11. Maximus says:

Teams are clearing cap room and roster spots for new players.

  12. guinsfan4life says:

Could this mean that these teams are close to deals to acquire players to replace these teams?

  13. Aetherial says:

Yesterday WAS a bad start for him.

  14. recchi says:

i agree please someone take stevenson he was a waste of a signing and he makes over a million dollars?????…..come on couldnt they think of a better player to sign than that waste

  15. gohabs73 says:

isn’t it weird that Phoenix would waive Sauve if they plan on moving Cujo?

they’d be left with Leneveu and Passmore?!

either Cujo’s staying put or Phoenix is looking to trade him for another goalie!

  16. marcs797 says:

    whats your source?

  17. intothevoid001 says:

my opinion, another goalie is coming in, or it could just be that suave sucks the big one.

  18. marcs797 says:

    nvm got it

I think the waiving of Suave is a clear statement to the hockey media that has been hailing Phoenix as the next big firesale. In Waiving Suave they almost can not ship CuJo, which is what both Phoenix’s managment and Cujo himself have been saying all along. Phoenix does not believe they are out of the hunt yet, and if they can win a home and home series against Anahiem this weekend, they will be back in it. Look for Phoenix to be minor sellers and minor buyers, but not too much of eather.

  21. shifterdarkwolf says:

Who is going to come in to replace Cujo? Biron? Like Buffalo needs another #1 goalie. Giguare? Division rivals do not trade big players to each other, especially when there is a home and home coming up just after the deadline. Toronto? Cujo is better than Belfore and has more years left in him. I don’t see CuJo going anywhere, they probably shipped Suave to make room for LeNeveu to get some ice time.

  22. marcs797 says:

unless your psychic its not logic who gets waived and when.

  23. thatleafsguy says:

They are all useless players, although Andy Hilbert intrigues me.

  24. Kraftster says:

Don’t be surprised one bit if the Pens pick up Hilbert.

  25. Flyers70 says:

Sort of surprised by Stevenson being waived. He’s been hurt all year, but even at that, he does make too much $$$ for what he has contributed.

  26. SensDude says:

I dont consider giving up 4 goals in a PP when the habs were 15 minutes on PK and he only gave up 1 bad goal in the 3rd period when he wanted to clear up the zone.

No not a bad start , crappy refs only, this only happens in Toronto , dont know why.

  27. gohabs73 says:

they might want to free some cap space to make a trade…

  28. Flyers70 says:

Agreed. This also tells me they are going to have to somehow get a winger to replace him.

  29. peedy7 says:

Phoenix has waived Philip Sauve, from inside information, this has been made to make room for a trade with Montreal, Jose Theodore is going to Montreal for Mike Comrie and Derek Morris.

I know I said “What Theo is hurt” according to sources, Theo is coming back in 2 weeks, and this move is for the future of the Coyotes not just for this season.

  30. peedy7 says:

Obviously I meant Theodore is going to Phoenix, I typed fast in my excitement with this inside source information.

  31. djstoop_id says:

It’s just too bad players can’t be moved while on the IR.

  32. shifterdarkwolf says:

Stupid people piss me off -.-

  33. marcs797 says:

or throw nedved or zeus to wing and get a center…

no joke (lol sorry im pretty gay but i really wanna see jokinen in orange and black)

  34. mtlman2005 says:

    keep dreaming…

  35. mtlman2005 says:

well unless your a 5 year old retard that can’t read…

  36. the_canadian_game says:

the leafs should sign rico fata

  37. hockeybandit says:

Now Philly has to trade Esche and picks to Phoenix for Doan and Cujo!

  38. marcs797 says:

lol you dont like me do you.

oh well, it could happen, and i can and will dream.

besides, only 1 more night to dream anyways, tonight.

PS> i dont like you much either.

  39. gregpb says:

Unreal. That guy use to score like 6 goals in the first period against my teams and then deke out everybody and wait for a teamate to pass to for the goal. We were like 10. Thought he would have been a NHL star, not a waiver acquisition.

  40. HalGillTheNew99 says:

I’d like to see the Bruins pick up Fata… but I don’t know now that we got Marius

  41. shifterdarkwolf says:

Phoenix traded Esche to Philly because Esche was a bum, and it seems he still is 😛 Esche isn’t worth Cujo or Doan, none the less both.

  42. EmptyNetter says:

And then they will pay him in Rooby Racks.

    Roobie Roo!

  43. EmptyNetter says:

Why did Phoenix trade Boucher for Sauve only to waive him a month later? Why wouldn’t they trade for somebody they actually wanted to keep?

  44. EmptyNetter says:

I’m still trying to figure out why Phoenix is waiving Sauve when they just brought him in by trading Boucher to Calgary. Are they counting on him clearing waivers to go down to the minors or was the trade a mistake in the first place. Just wonder if you have any insight as a Phoenix fan.

  45. Flyer_Dman says:

    What the hell?!

Stevenson played tonight against the Hurricanes. So basically that report is BS. I wonder how truthful the rest of the article is.

I’m not surprised that this article has no link to reference its source. Waste of time.

  46. mtrakker85 says:

Calm down, there is always a method behind Clarke’s maddness.

    This is from

Looks like the Flyers want to make one, big move.

They tried to firee up $260,000 in cap space today by waiving Turner Stevenson.

No one is expected to pick him up because it is common knowledge that the right wing has major problems in his right hip going back to several surgeries ago in

    New Jersey.

Paul Holmngren, assistant GM to Bob Clarke, told Stevenson today he was being waived. “He told me it was strictly a salary cap move, they want to clear some space to do something,” Stevenson told the Philadelphia Inquirer this afternoon. “If they do it now, I should clear. If they wait to do it after the trade deadline, then someone can pick me up for half salary next season.”

He has one year left on his deal at $1.254 million _ same salary as this season. Stevenson was signed as a free agent two summers ago as a penalty kill and checking line specialist. The Flyers go into the trade deadline with about $2.2 or $2.3 million in cap space. This move could be part of something major _ a play for Florida`s Jolli Jokinen _ or just giving them more room in case they can only add 2 middle-line players.

Stevenson missed 33 total games this season with problems in his right hip and right labrum. “Hopefully, I clear waivers and get a chance to heal,” Stevenson said. “They don’t think anyone will claim me.” Stevenson was a class act in the dressing room and one of the nicest athletes to have ever played for the Flyers. It`s unfortunate his prior injuries wrecked havoc on his season.
