Most underrated players in the NHL, Sundin

Before I get to the most underrated players in the NHL I would like to mention Mats Sundin. He is a horse who gives 110% every night. He has 16 points in his last 10 games. I read an article on Hockeybuzz.com sugesting Mats Sundin for the Hart trophy. It will never happen but it should. Anyway here is a list of the most underrated players in the NHL.*All stats are as of January 1st.

Vesa Toskala:
15 wins in 22 games. He has played the same amount of games as Nabokov, but he should be the starting goalie. Nabokov is making 5M a year and san jose does not wasn’t a 5m dollar goalie being a backup. Maybe they can learn something from the senators.

Mathieu Shneider:
This guy is being overlooked by Niklas Lidstrom. He has 7 goals and 23 assists and is plus 12. Not only a good offensive defenceman but a good defensive defenseman.

Brian Rolston:
In 39 games he has 20 goals and 16 assists. Good on offense. I have never ever heard of him until I was scrolling through the player stats. He would be on my team any day.

Thomas Vanek:
Last year he had 48 points all year and wason buffalo’s 3rd line. this year he has 22 goals an d 20 assists for 42 points. He is an offensive force but there is more. He is a plus 24. Not very often would you find a player who is very skilled on offense and also amazing on defence. He is 2nd in the league in +/-.

Mike Peca:
His offensive skills have diminished but he is very valuable to the team and it does not show on the scorsheet. He is one of the best face-off men in the NHL, also one of the best players on the Penalty Kill in the league.

Danius Zubrus:
The best player on the capitals other than Ovechkin. He is coming along nicely with 14 goals and 20 assists. Very quiet player but he is a good one.

Chris Drury:
This guy gives it his his all every night and it shows on the scoresheet. 20 goals and 17 assists in 37 games played. Last year he had 65 points and this year he is on pace for 78. He is a good play maker and can score. He also provids leadership to the Buffalo sabers.

Daymond Langkow:
He is doing great playing on Calgery’s first line. In 37 games played he has 15 goals and 24 assists and is plus 12. He is on pace for 86 points wich would be, by far, a career high. As the stats show he is a natural playmaker. Him and Iginla is a great combination because Iginla is a natural scorer.

Alexander Frolov:
In 41 games played he has 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points. He is becoming one of the western conferences best players and nobody has payed attention to him. He is a great sniper and is good in the corners. He is definitely a 1st line winger and will be for years to come.

Kari Lehtonen:
He has 18 wins and 8 losses, a 913. save percentage and 4 shutouts. When people talk about the best goalie in the league his name is never mentioned but it should be. He has quickness and handels the puck well.

To finish this article I would like to say I think the nhl should have an AKI BERG AWARD wich is presented to the worst player of the month.
