Nedved signs with Sparta

Petr Nedved has left the NHL. According to TSN he signed with Czech champion HC Sparta Prague on a one-year contract. Could we see more free agents doing the same?

It was time for Petr to move on after a resonable hockey career in the NHL.

He got no ice time with an Oilers team that was decimated by injuries last season.  He's playing in Europe cause he couldnt make an NHL team anymore.

Very true. I watched this guy with the oilers. He still has skills, but no desire. One game he would work hard, make plays, go into hard areas. Then for 3 straight games he would dissapear.

If he couldn't play on the oilers with all those injuries, then he has no business in the NHL.

The NHL doesn't lose much here. He's a washed up, no motivation player. He basically hung around for a paycheck.

If the League could lose more of these lazy, washed up Euro-type players…we would have a better League. Put in some young guys who want to play.

Bye-Bye Samsonov, Kovalev, Zherdev (though young, he's a bum), Fedorov, etc.

    Wow…

I actually forgot about Ya$hin. But…he's gone. Good riddance.

Damn! I wanted him to rejoin the Philadelphia Phantoms hahahahaha. Before the Flyers put him on the waivers and The Oilers picked him up, he was playing for the Flyer's AHL team, and I wanted to buy a Nedved Phantoms Jersey, and wear it all the time.
