Dvorak joins team in Vermont. Isle’s keep the spider Webb. Tkachuk planning to sing the Blues for the next five years. Brewer remains an Oiler.Sands writes:

While Dvorak has Signed a deal right before camp, Rucinsky’s agent is in need of a psychologist. Sather is fed up with Paul Kraus, Rucinsky’s agent is he’s pushing on Sather an annual salary of $3 million.

Sather has offered around 1.7M for a year but, there is no chance of him getting more then that…..

No team would give him more.

Rumor has it that Sather feel’s Rucinsky isn’t asking for that deal but only that Paul Kraus is pushing that deal.

If Rucinsky wants to come back to the Rangers, he better make a deal with Sather himself… or else Sather will leave him in free agency and let a none competing team make a lower deal with him…..

Rucinsky has a chance to be on a top line With Bure and Lindros. If he wants to raise his price he better sign a one year deal and then make his move for a higher contract next year. His stats will jump after one season on a line with Bure and Lindros. Anyone’s stats would. That would be the smart move for Rucinsky.

TFP:The Edmonton Oilers have signed restricted free agent defenseman Eric Brewer to a 2-year, $4 million contract, TFP has learned.
In 81 games last season, the 23-year-old scored 7 goals and added 18 assists. Brewer was drafted 5th overall in the 1997 Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.

TFP:The St. Louis Blues have signed left wing Keith Tkachuk to a new 5-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the deal is worth $45 million.
According to the newspaper, the first 4 years are guaranteed at $40 million while the team holds an option for the fifth year

TFP:Steve Webb has signed his 1-year qualifying offer with the New York Islanders.
“I’ve signed the deal and I’m still hopeful Mike and I will continue to talk about a longer deal,” said Webb. “But no matter what happens, you’re not going to hear any complaints from me…”

Great. Now we get to hear all about Dvorak’s vaunted “speed” for another couple of seasons. Yippee.

Maybe Rucinsky just doesn’t want to sign with a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in five seasons.

Kevin Lowe made the right choice in sticking with Brewer and dumping Tom Poti. Brewer’s got a lot of promise, and is infinitely more consistent in his own end.

Another $9 million per year player. Yippee.

Tell me you wouldn’t give LeClair’s $9 mil a year to Tkachuk in a heartbeat.

Come on big booty relax. You are too knowledgable about hockey to think this way… Don’t let emotions get the better of your comments. I trully think your Flyers will be OK and do very well this year. Its not that the Flyers have gotten better, but who is better then the Flyers in the East? I don’t see one dominant team out there.

I nor “I Hope” any Rangers fans expect alot from Dvorak this year. Dvorak’s game is predicated on his speed. After knee surgery last year there is no way he will be at the top of his game. I just hope he does not rush back too soon and reinjure himself because he is still a young player with a long career ahead of him.

Rucinsky… Your comments are not about Rucinsky! It was a chance to take a poke at Rangers fans about not making the playoffs for 5 years. Before 1994 the Rangers went 54 years with out a cup. 5 years is nothing! Realisticly, what team other then the Rangers does he make better? Actually he would make most teams worse if he signed with them. For example, If he signed with the Flyers… He would make any line he played on worse. Maybe not the 4th line, but why take a roster spot from a young player or roll player? This is the case with most other teams as well. He is not even worth 1.7 million. He should pay the Rangers for the opportunity to play with Lindros and Bure! I would!

I would trade Poti for Brewer in a second. I might even trade Leetch for Brewer. Leetch is a UFA next season and Brewer is much younger. Lowe would not be considered the great GM he is by trading the likes of Brewer.

rucinsky has reportedly received 3 other offers besides the rangers. so this is not about him not wanting to go to a team he doesn’t feel good about. this is clearly about rucinsky getting bad advice from his agent or him just being unrealistic.

And you disagree that you pick on anything linked to the Rangers? Pleeease…..any topic that has to do with the Rangers, you just aim at the negative side.

You don’t get to hear anything about Dvorak’s vaunted speed, because it’s nothing new. I thikn Dvorak will score 20-25 goals with Holik and it depends how he recovers.

“Maybe Rucinsky just doesn’t want to sign with a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in five seasons.”

You’re simply aiming at the Rangers right there. You simply made that up and just making yourself look like you want to aim at the Rangers. Rucinsky wants $3 million, and no one wants to pay him that much. That is a fact. You can’t make up something so amazingly idiotic by saying he doesn’t want to play for the Rangers. Just like you made with the coaches and Holik not wanting to be with the Rangers. Rucinsky knows that his best chance to be successful is with the Rangers too. Where else would he score at least 40-45 points?

Well, usually an offesnive defenseman is not as good defenseively as a stay at home d-man. There was no choosing between Poti and Brewer. Brewer was never on the block, Poti was. Lowe didn’t have to make any choices there.

    Players are uncontrollable. Sucks eh?

Tkachuk for 9 million, Guerin for 9 million, Holik for 9 million.

Looks like a nice future for the NHL and its labor negotiations…

  7. Rico71 says:

Any team giving more than 1.5 million to Rucinsky is deluded.

He’s a lazy player who likes to whine. He never scored close to 30 goals and basically did nothing much in MTL, except for the few years Damphousse helped him statistically.

I was one happy MTL fan to see that jerk leave town. Same goes for that 30-goal scoring machine that Savage is. Too bad he never managed to score 30 though…and PHO gives him 3+ million a year? What a joke. *lol*

  8. Habfan4 says:

Careful you’re dangerously close to being tarred and feathered by the “truth hurts me brigade”.

  9. mikster says:

He scored 29 goals and the year after 28 goals.

ya, i know its crazy, and now alexei kovalev is asking for $9 mill, something has to be fixed, i mean, goodness!!
