Washington Post- Capitals general manager George McPhee said there is “no chance” he’ll trade goaltender Olaf Kolzig. Although there are believed to be several teams, including the Vancouver Canucks, who are or may be interested in obtaining a goaltender, McPhee says he’s had no talks with any clubs regarding Kolzig.

Avalanche coach Joel Quenneville said that either David Aebischer or Peter Budaj will get the start on Saturday against the Islanders. After that, the starting goaltender would get the assignment based on merit. – Rocky Mountain News



The Colorado Avalanche continue to look for someone to play the wing on the second line with Pierre Turgeon and Marek Svatos. The Avs have been missing a scoring winger since Steve Konowalchuk had surgery and he’ll be gone for the rest of the season. – Denver Post
