The leafs already have 7 NHL ready D men but none quite like him.
Hypothetically speaking, if he wanted 5 mil. Komisarek would need to be traded. Which brings me to my next question.
Will Komisarek be tradeable next year? It will be one less year on his contract.

I stand by that I think he's a top 5ish goalie (obviously not this year though) and that he's just having an off year. If he repeats this next year though, then I'll start really dropping him in the rankings.

Interesting. I wasn't following hockey back then (I was 2 when he started lol) but I remember his during his Flames days. He wasn't a bad coach at all. It was when he took over GM duties that he went downhill. He had some good moves (Bourque, finding Huselias, Kipper) but the Bouwmeester signing and the Phaneuf trade began the end for him in that regards. So basically, good coach, not so much as a GM.

For that one season around the lockout. Before that he was just as good as he is now. Good but not top 5 great.

I liked for the format they had from 1984 to 2000, which was 5 minutes of OT, and ZERO points if you lose in OT. And of course, no shootout.

WHen they introduced the "extra point" for an OT loss in 2000-2001, it took away form the drama of losing an OT game. What's the point of sports without drama?

It's almost like they made the sport for kindergarten children, ie, give them a point so that they go home happy and don't hurt their self-esteem.
