NHL trade rumours: Gaborik could move

Nov. 5. Hockey Central’s insiders report that changes will be coming in Edmonton, although they might not involve former No. 1 draft pick Nail Yakupov — who carries more value than New York Rangers defenceman Michael Del Zotto right now. Ales Hemsky, despite his hefty $5-million cap hit, is more likely to be dealt. Hemsky will be a UFA in July.

Some other notes: P.K. Subban will begin negotiating with the Montreal Canadiens in the next couple weeks; the RFA-in-waiting is set to get a massive raise. And Marian Gaborik and the Columbus Blue Jackets have yet to discuss a contract extension; Gaborik, who was traded last year, could well be on the move at the deadline again if the Blue Jackets fall out of the race or if they sense Gaborik is unwilling to stay long-term in Ohio. The sniper has five goals through 13 games this year.
