NHL Trade Scenarios: 11 Players Who Would Welcome a Trade ASAP

Although the NHL season is very young, the trade rumors from the offseason that never materialized are beginning to resurface as new speculations are also being made.

There is plenty of hockey to still be played, but already some players would love to get out of their current surroundings and be dealt to a different franchise.

Some guys could just need a change of scenery while others just want to play for a winner to have a chance to win a Stanley Cup before their career ends.

Here are 11 such NHLers who would welcome a trade ASAP.
Jason Spezza
Daniel Alfredsson
Miikka Kiprusoff
Jarome Iginla
Ales Hemsky
Shane Doan
Steve Mason
Zach Bogosian
Cory Schneider
Brayden Schenn
Brenden Morrow

Lupul has 8 points in 7 games????

The highest point getter in Montreal right now is Andrei Ko'shit'syn with 5???

    What are you talking about?

  2. TheLeafNation91 says:

All the TSN and sportsnet guys never said??? Show me statistical proof like I have you. Oh wait, you cannot, I looked and found nothing. give me evidence…I want it.

Burke never drafted them, I never said he did. i said they were projects when he came to the organization and he allowed them to play in the AHL. But he did draft the last two art ross trophy winners…The Sedins. Drafted Bobby Ryan.

No one ever said Kadri was on the same level as Hall for sure.

Avstin is not a really good prospect…He's not a sure thing and he does not look like one in NA.

Shero has one ring, Burke has one ring…Holmgren has zero rings. DOn't know why he's mentioned here?

  3. TheLeafNation91 says:

Don't forget Grabovski…That guy who destroyed you guys on Saturday!!!

  4. lafleur10 says:

oops my bad you are right i was looking in the wrong category he has 3 more points than kostitsyn, pacioretty, and plekanec all have 5 points so he's hardly out performing them

  5. lafleur10 says:

watch hockey central at noon, and tsn hockey on wednesday nights and that's hockey and the tsn insideres and the the draft preview shows i've heard it mentioned on there! like i said maybe it wasn't you it could've been cam and someone else but they were saying that  kadri was better than hall and eberle! which i clearly staed that he isn't and wouldn't be proof is in the pudding! he's nowhere near those guys! avtsin will be a good prospect i think he has all the tools i guess it's up to him to decide if he wants it bad enough! shero has 1 ring your right, burke has 1 your right holmgren doesn't but the job he's doing in philly gets him mentioned!  and the other 3 sather, holland, and lamoriello all have 3 -4 rings to burkes 1  and they are all superior to him!  that is a fact

  6. LeafsCaines says:

I took the two of them too. Cant catch the leader though, bastard took Lehtonen and Miller for his goalies. I took Rinne and Lundvist.

  7. mapleleafsfan says:

You forgot gomez.. Pretty sure he's a big part of your future.

  8. LeafsCaines says:

I've been on for awhile and haven't said much at all, but man…you remind me sooo much of my friend on Facebook. Both of you fail to see any negatives about your precious Habs, know f**k all about hockey and cant handle the fact that, the leafs are the younger, more talented, better and up coming team.

However, i do agree that whoever drafts Yakupov will have one hell of a player.

  9. mapleleafsfan says:

Proof is in the pudding. Now let's see some real proof? No one cares that "you heard it on tv once!!!!"… Find ONE article, and not one that you've written yourself – not because you're not the most credible source but because your english sucks more dick than elton john. Stop crying that the habs got spanked again.

  10. TheLeafNation91 says:

Except the +/- category. Thats not really a pretty site.

  11. TheLeafNation91 says:

We already established he's not the best GM in the league. lol.

He's top 5 in the league right now, was all I'm saying. You can argue Shero, but I don't think he's at Burke's level.

Burke built Vancouver (Sedins, Kesler) and Anaheim (Niedermayer, Pronger, Bobby Ryan). ANd they are still very good teams today, both with deep systems as well.

He has not had the same luck in Toronto, I will admit that, but he inherited a very very very bad team (likes of Stajans Ponikarovsky, Antropov, Jason Blake, Kubina) and in two years has built one of the youngest teams in the league with talented players (Kessel, Gardiner, and Phaneuf). To say what he has not is a miracle, is far fectched, as Toronto would probably still be a bottom feeder today.

  12. mapleleafsfan says:
"again your not listening! i said he's a good g.m"
    "average at best"
"enjoy the below average job burke is doing"
  13. lafleur10 says:

i'd say top 10 but definately not top 5! i can list these 5 guys that are better and are definately the top 5 holland, lamoriello, sather chiarelli, shero,
and yes shero is at burke's level infact he's above burke! we'll have the same talk again when the penguins and shero win the stanley cup this year! yeah he buily vancouuver but did they win a cup under his watch? no he didn't directly build the ducks he added pronger, niedermayer, and ryan but the core was already there from murray!they aren't as deep tody however because bob murray their g.m.is slowly wrecking them!

  14. hockey_lover says:

    – Has established one of the deepest prospect pools in the league (Go look at HTR, were ranked higher then the Habs)

While I wont debate this point (because Im not entirely sure), I wouldnt exactly call a HTR ranking reliable. First, this site is essentially “Leafs Town” so the bias is ever present and second, its like trusting in Wikipedia for information. Not sure much.

  15. leafmeister says:

Actually beating them in every major statistical category is, by definition, outperforming them. And 8 points next to 5 points this early in the season is a pretty big difference. Also Lupul is scoring big goals that help get wins.

  16. mapleleafsfan says:

I think he meant HF (Hockey's futures). There isn't a ranking like that on here.

  17. alpalstewart says:

i just hope he keeps it up for 20-30 more games and we can sell him at the deadline.
