Here’s the latest on the Jarome Iginla trade front:

-Calgary GM Jay Feaster is asking for goaltender Malcolm Subban to be part of any package from Boston. Boston GM Peter Chiarelli flatly refuses to include Subban in any package.

Kipper off the trade market? Will not report to new team

Are the Leafs interested in Kipper?

Players that the Flames could try to pry out of Boston for Iginla

What kind of package it takes to land Iginla remains to be seen, but with longtime backstop Miikka Kiprusoff nearing the end, the Flames would certainly have keen interest in the B’s top goalie prospect, Malcolm Subban. Other trade bait could include forwards Alexander Khokhlachev and Ryan Spooner, and defensemen Matt Bartkowski, Torey Krug and David Warsofsky.

Anton Babchuk and Cory Sarich are available

Bruins continue to look for help

Bruins need help

Even before the Bruins lost two regulars — Chris Kelly (broken foot) and Adam McQuaid (shoulder injury) — for the rest of the regular season, they were looking for help.

Has Iginla played his last game in Calgary?

Have Flames fans seen the last of Jarome Iginla in Calgary?

Did the stirring ovation given to him following his game-winner late Sunday serve as his last hurrah?

Fans should hope so.

Miikka Kiprusoff brushes off trade rumours

“I try to stay out of that,” shrugged the habitually-nonplussed goaltender of trade speculation. “I try to keep it simple, still. I try to help team here. Try to win games.

“Everything else is out of my control.

“So there’s no reason to think about it. At all. It’s NHL. Every year, it’s the same talk. A part of the game. My name is out there, too.

“But I can’t worry about it too much.”

Haggerty: Pressure’s on for Chiarelli to make a move

Clearly the Bruins are interested in Iginla’s services, and those feelings have intensified as any potential trade hopes with Ottawa for Daniel Alfredsson went up in smoke as the Senators kept on winning. The Calgary Flames captain has become the No. 1 target for the Bruins on their trade wish list, and fits the ball for Boston on so many levels.

Iginla is a fiery leader, he’s a physical presence still capable of playing the power forward position at an elite level and he was good enough to still score 32 goals last season at 35 years old.

NHL trade rumors: Flames like Matt Read, Senators looking for top-six forward

Elliotte Friedman brought up Philadelphia Flyers forward Matt Read in his 30 Thoughts column on Monday. With Read battling back from a rib injury, Friedman wrote about how teams respect the player’s toughness. Given that Philadelphia is looking for help on the back-end, Friedman stated without actually stating that any deal with the Calgary Flames for Jay Bouwmeester would likely include Read, via CBC.ca:

If Philly does any business with Calgary, know that Flames assistant GM John Weisbrod has chased Read for years.

Flames try to put aside trade talk

If face-of-the-franchise Jarome Iginla is willing to accept a trade, or if he’s so frustrated that he’s actually thinking of asking for one, he wasn’t saying Wednesday.

Maybe white smoke will billow out of the Saddledome when Iginla has made up his mind whether he wants to negotiate a contract extension with the team or try for a championship ring elsewhere.

There are rumblings blueline workhorse Jay Bouwmeester, the NHL’s all-time leader in games played without a single skate in the post-season, could be asked to waive his own no-trade clause.

Bouwmeester is the exact type ofD the Oilers need

Losses making Iginla’s decision easier

With every embarrassing loss, Jarome Iginla’s decision must get a little bit easier.

Iginla and Flames still not talking extension

Time is ticking away on the Jarome Iginla era in Calgary, as the most popular player in franchise history has yet to decide whether he wants to remain with the Flames.

Iginla’s agent, Don Meehan, has given the Calgary Sun an ominous update on the situation between the two sides, saying the Flames captain is “not currently in negotiations” with the NHL club he’s played with the last 18 years.

It’s More and More likely that Iginla will be traded

Penguins have Flames captain Jarome Iginla in their sights

Don’t be surprised if the Pittsburgh Penguins get Sidney Crosby a little help.

While the Penguins’ captain is doing a good job setting a torrid scoring pace this season, Pittsburgh general manager Ray Shero is expected to go shopping for another winger and possibly a defenceman before the April 3 trade deadline.

Who would the Flames have for a goalie should they move Kipper?

The Flames are coming to a crossroads.

Kiprusoff, who’s currently nearing a return from a knee injury suffered Feb. 5, has one more season on his contract after this year before becoming an unrestricted free agent. The 36-year-old netminder no longer has a no-trade clause, and a trade could really kick start a rebuild for the floundering team, which is awfully close to 30th even with him in the fold.

Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Senators are among several teams looking for a defenceman

THIS N’ THAT: The talk has increased in the last few days as the schedule hits the halfway point and teams are starting to get desperate to make moves. Sources say the Rangers, Flames and Philadelphia Flyers are among those making phone calls. “Teams are thinking they’ve got to do something now if they’re going to stand a chance,” said a league executive Friday … The Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Senators are among several teams looking for a defenceman before the April 3 deadline … The Penguins won’t have C Evgeni Malkin back from a concussion Saturday vs. the Montreal Canadiens Saturday at the Bell Centre, but he is making progress. Many GMs think Pittsburgh’s Ray Shero will deal for Calgary’s Jarome Iginla.
