The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review provides a list of who they feel are the 10 best Pens free agent options. While it is not highly likely that the Pens will be able to sign any of the top players on this list this list is a good one to check out to refresh your mind of players that are available.
The Daily Herald is reporting that the Black Hawks may have their sights set on a number of “tier two” free agents.

The Buffalo News continues speculation with regard to Drury and Briere.
They indicate that the Sabres are saying nothing in regard to Drury or Briere’s pending free agency however they do suggest possible teams (mainly a repeat of past articles) that are said to have supreme interest.
Darren Dreger of TSN is suggesting that the Islanders may offer Ryan Smyth a deal that he may not be able to refuse. He is suggesting the possibility of a 7 or 8 year deal worth about 6 million per year. Put differently that could mean a 48 million dollar deal.
Tom Gulitti of NorthJersey.com is reporting that Brian Rafalski who is et to become unrestricted on July first wants to remain with the Devils.
The Florida Sun-Sentinel is suggesting that the Florida Panthers will cut loose goalie Alex Auld by not tendering him a qualifying offer. What is interesting about this move is that a year ago he was set to be their top goalie. Other news from Florida is that the Panthers may be looking to bring back Martin Gelinas and Jozef Stumpel for another season.
The New York Post is reporting that the devils resigning of Brian Rafalski is “no longer a slam dunk.” Rafalski has the same agent as Kimmo Timonen who was able to sign a lucrative deal with the Flyers in the past week.
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Red Wings have no plans to bring back Robert Lang next season. It is rumored that he and coach Bab***** has some tension in the playoffs.
Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that the Rangers are getting ready for contract talks with Gillis, Nylander’s agent. Brooks speculates that Nylander will be able to command a 4 year deal in the range of 18-20 million dollars on the open market and it is well known that Nylander has already fired his old agent for reportedly agreeing to a deal worth 3.75 per season.
Detnews.com is reporting that the Red Wings are looking to meet with Todd Bertuzzi’s agent in the hopes of reaching an agreement on a new contract. Apparently they were set to meet last week but the plans were sidetracked when flights were delayed.
The News&Observer is very observant as they report that Scott Walker is set to become an UFA on July the first. Apparently the Carolina Hurricanes tried to re-sign Walker in the past few days but came up far short on an agreement.
