Draft day stupidity or genious??? FA still in question

Ok, Draft day has come and gone and as everyone now knows, Patrick Kane is a Blackhawk. But, what did Montreal do? Well, for what seems like a long run of “terrible” drafting, the Habs, yet again, took a defencemen in the first round.

Is Huet expendable ???

With the emergence of Carey Price and the lack of quality goaltending on the free agent market, Mr. Gainey should entertain offers on Huet.

Montreal will be dangerous in 3-5 years

Montreal has tons of solid prospects in their organization and will be a great team in the years to come. This is my first post so feel free to tell me what you think.

Forget any major trades for this year draft

This is only my opinion, but, I think there won’t be any major trade involving the Canadiens this year at the entry draft pick for 2 reasons.

These are a few of my ideas as to whom, from the Canadiens, has a chance of being traded by draft day. I am not saying they are going to happen, but we won’t see any deals like this:
To Toronto: Jokinen
To Dallas: Kilger and 2nd Round Pick.
*cough*FarFromFreedom*cough*
As a Habs fan I know Kilger’s value so don’t say that THAT is a good trade for Dallas.

Off-Season for Habs

Ok, i’m a life long Habs fan and as the end of last year came, i couldn’t help but think “i wonder who the Habs will get and who the Habs can?” I’ve heard all the rumours surrounding Bergeron, Briere, Souray and Marleau and ya, it’d be great to get these guys but Habs fans everywhere have to more realistic.

Would Souray be a better forward than a defensman?

I am not optimistic that Bob can sign Souray…but if he did, I think he would make a better forward. If he could get 64 pts as a defender he may be able to put up even better numbers up front. He could still quarterback the PP and he wouldn’t be such a liability on D. (He would also and grit)

Draft on Friday yet Habs need to make 1st round decisions

With the NHL entry draft coming this Friday, GM bob Gainey has some decisions to make….

Marleau to be Habs most wanted big center ?

As most of Habs fans know, we have been looking for years to add a big center to our lineup. Finally, we may find him in San Jose.

Once again GM Bob Gainey is up to his old self by re-signing key players. Bob Gainey has just re-signed Forward Christopher Higgins and Defenceman Mike Komisarek. They were both re-signed to two year contracts each. Terms of the deal were not disclosed as per team policy.

Yashin to be a hab?

Alexei Yashin’s agent has said to rds.ca that his client would like to come to Montreal. The 6 foot 3 225lbs center is apparently looking to join his good friends Markov, Kovalev and even Koivu (whom wich he has trained with during the summer in Finland). Sources even say that he would be looking to relaunch Samsonov career.

What's hapening with the Canadiens ?

So.

I guess now that the cup is won, it is time to get back on track.
Maybe, like myself, a lot of you folks are tired of the Carey Price stuff. So let’s speculate on something else.

Here is a quick “résumé” of the situation.

CAREY PRICE!

Alright, after a third straight year with a Canadian team in the Stanley Cup finals…NO CUP IN CANADA..pretty disappointing unless you follow The American League. Last Night the Hamilton Bulldogs “Montreal Canadien’s farm team” won the calder trophy, by eliminating the Hershey Bears “Washington Capital’s Farm Team” in Five games. Being a habs fan i am extremely happy to see our young players dominating the American League, and especially happy about the goaltending situation.
