The new Habs

While Carbo ended the night juggling the lines, for the most part he seemed to be using set lines.

Should he stay or should he go??

GUILLAUME LATENDRESSE

I think it’s obvious that this kid is doing what is required of him to make this team, and he now has another year under his belt. While he put points on the board after being sent back to Drummondville, I think we can all agree that he didn’t have a stellar year(including not getting much playing time for team Canada). This time around, if Gainey sends him back to Junior…he will be without the guy who gets him the puck(Brassard is out for the year).

So clearly, sending him back would be a mistake.

But now, who’s place on the roster will he take???

Many people here in Montreal have been pointing the finger to Perezhogin, but is that really the solution?

I think Gainey’s hand might FINALLY be forced to make a move to clear up a roster space. We need help on defense, and that should be his focus.

Personally…I SAY MOVE RIBEIRO!

Opening night roster should look like this….

Samsonov Higgins Koivu

Latendresse Koivu Ryder

Perezhogin Plekanec Johnson

Begin Bonk Murray

Winless preseason so far?!

Okay, I have to admit, I’m kind of worried with the preseason record that the habs have going so far. I don’t know what Carb’s plans are for the team, but he better get it in gear soon, after watching “The Rocket” recently, I’ve been even more pumped to see the habs play…we need the team to have heart, It’s all about motivation and chemistry.

What does Gainey do… Part 2

Latendresse or Perezoghin ???

Canadiens' Cristobal Huet to receive MBNA Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Cristobal Huet will receive the 2005-06 MBNA Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award during an on-ice ceremony prior to the Canadiens preseason game against the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre tonight

First Boillion and now Cote

I was reading our local news paper today and it reported that JP Cote went down with a knee injury during a scrimmage recently.

Habs rumors mills spin again!

Many sources come with many rumors…

110% tv show said that Habs was looking to get Roberto Luongo but with the performance of Huet, the withdraw all offer.

Markov May Take Off

Andrei Markov is in the last year of his contract and is scheduled to become an UFA at season’s end. This is a tricky situation for Bob Gainey and the Canadiens. What should they do?

What Does Gainey do ???

After hearing Saku Koivu talk at yesterday’s golf tournament, Habs fans should have reason to be worried. As much as the Habs brass show’s confidence that Koivu will be fine, inside they are shaking in their boots. What does Gainey do. Does he go into camp and see if any rookie is ready to make the jump ? Does he see if Kovalev or Higgins can play in the middle this year ? Does he look to make a deal ? Does he put his confidence in Bonk to play on one of the top 2 lines ?

110% Think Daze deserves a shot

After watching 110% last night, I cannot believe that Bob Gainey would not at the very least give Eric Daze a crack at making the Habs roster this year. Michel Bergeron or perhaps it was Enrico Ciccone said that this guy was the fastest player on the ice practicing with other NHL players at a local rink. Daze says his back is 100%,his conditioning around 80 and is ready for training camp. Now,I know this guy is injury prone, but with his size and skill, how can the Habs lose with an incentive laiden contract?.

Ribeiro nearly a Blackhawk last Season?

Matthias Brunet reports Mike Ribeiro was nearly part of a major trade last winter involving the Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks. The deal supposedly would’ve seen Ribeiro, Jose Theodore and Pierre Dagenais shipped to Chicago in exchange for Nikolai Khabibulin and Adrian Aucoin, but was nullified when Theodore broke his ankle. I think that this would have been a great trade but then again if that had happened Huet probably would never have gotten the chance to become the star he is at the moment so I guess it all worked out, especially since Khabibulin was just as bad as Theo last season it would of been a struggling star goalie for another struggling star goalie, maybe they were hoping the change of scenery would change that. Who knows but even though Aucoin had a sub-par year last season i think he would have been a great addition to give us more blueline depth.

Should the Habs look at Daze ???

I was thinking maybe the Habs should sign him at a base salary of let’s say 500,000 $, and throw in some incentives like games played, goals and so on.

Canadiens not among suitors for Dumont

If you’re going to a spead dumb rumour tied to fantastical trades then you may as well report actaul events too:
