Well, there’s not a whole lot going on in NHL hockey world.
Besides the usual PR moves by the league and PA and some bogus buyout offer that the media is totally blowing out of proportion, there’s not much going on.
So, let’s have some fun and look at where some NHL teams got their names.
This story reported in today’s issue of the Tennessean. Leipold is one of the eight owners considered to be in Bettman’s pocket. These eight guarantee that Bettman will not be ousted anytime soon for the good of the league.
The meetings have ended and so now we are doing…what the French call…..”I dono` whot`.

And…. I Can Live With or Without You (NHLPA).
The results of the Board of Governors and NHLPA meetings were exactly what everyone expected. Both sides emerged singing koombayah and expressing their solidarity and the full support of their leadership.
I’m surprised that this wasn’t posted earlier but Disney has sold the Ducks to Dr. Henry Samueli and his wife, Susan. Here is the link.
Philadelphia Flyers’ GM, Bob Clarke, ripped NHLPA head, Bob Goodenow, today in a statement released before Clarke headed to New York for the NHL’s BOG meeting.

“Marshall Faulk, now resigned to a backup role with the Rams, has agreed to a pay cut in a restructured contract that will essentially guarantee he’ll end his career in St. Louis.
New York Ranger goalie Dan Blackburn, the 10th overall pick in 2001 has recently signed a contract and is playing with the ECHL’s Victoria Salmon Kings. Now why is this news?
