Nikita Filatov recalled by Ottawa

Winger Nikita Filatov who has been a standout in Binghamton so far, has been notified and recalled by the Senators tonight. He will on the plane tomorrow morning and will join the team back in Ottawa. Filatov has been recalled as Regin has been injured and it has been his same shoulder that has been giving him problems. Paul Maclean said he will be re-evaluated on Friday, but they knew he will not be in the line up any time soon so they let Filatov know late Thursday night that he will be getting on a plane and returning to Ottawa.

Nikita Filatov was sent down to Binghamton after being required by Ottawa for a 3rd round pick because he needed to try and find consistency with his game. He has everything to be an NHL player, just needs to put it together to be consistent day to day at the pro level. When going down to Bingo, Filatov has collected 3 goals and 4 points in 3 games down there and was consistant shift to shift for the Binghamton Senators. This really shows Filatov wants to play in the NHL level and now after only 3 games is getting the shot to again. He is going to be playing against his former team and this will be a game that should fire him up. I expect him to have a big night offensivly as he is pumped and ready to be a top 6 forward in the NHL. Projected line up looks as followed:

Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Filatov-Zebinajed-Alfredsson
Foligno-Smith-Neil
Winchester-Konopka- Da Costa

Condra healthy Scratch

Phillips-Rundblad
Karlsson-Kuba
Gonchar-Cowen
