No Discount Price for Nylander and Rangers ???

Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports that Michael Nylander is not interested in giving the Rangers “a home town discount” to stay in the big apple.

It is speculated that Nylander’s old agent had reached a three year contract with the Rangers for 3.75 million per year for 3 years. Nylanders new agent will be seeking more money … in the 4.5 million dollar range and as a result the Rangers will not be getting a bargain price to keep him under raps for the next few seasons. Nylander is set to become an UFA on July 1st.

Brooks indicated that he feels that Nylander is most likely worth between 4.25 and 5 million per season, too much if you ask us at HTR. It seems more logical for a team to target a big name player such as Gomez or Drury with 5 million plus dollars up in the air.
