Odds are Richards or Marian Gaborik, who has one season left in his five-year, $37.5 million deal, will be an ex-Ranger by next season.
And the bet here that the Rangers will gamble this season was the anomaly, bring back Tortorella and Richards and restock – not rebuild – their roster.
