Too bad for Heatley, he would've made this team an almost instant contender.

heatley now has barely any other options left other than staying in ottawa, which will not benefit him at all cuz they will never be a stanley cup contender. His only options left r pretty much LA and SJ but murrays looking for 2 much so a deal from either teams probably would not be reached.

"they will never be a contender"… that's funny, I thought it was Ottawa who made it to the Cup final in '07. And quite a few years before that, they were considered contenders too.

So, whatever crack you're smokin'…. pass it around- must be some good shite!

PS. You wanna talk about "never be a contender"… maybe have a look at what Gainey has put together in MTL for the next 5 years. Good luck contending with those contracts!

Good lord .. this is becoming like Sundin or Forsberg. Same crap, different day.

All this bravdo from Heatley is total hogsh*t anyway. He says he is so unhappy with Coach Cory. He doesnt want to play there anymore. Blah blah. You can bet your ass that he will be there on opening day. Why? Because he wants his paycheck.

Have some freaking integrity jackass. If you are that unhappy, sit out, go into breach of contract, become a free agent, go where you want, and let the team move on. But no, because he is a selfish twit, this is going to drag on and drag on into the year .. all because he wants his money. Even though he just got paid $4mil for being an arsehole.

    Complete and utter douchebaggery.

Good news for Sens fans here is that GM Murray won't trade Heatley just to get rid of him, he wants a huge package in return, and if he doesn't get traded, Ottawa has one of the best finishers in the game and for sure one of the best forward groups in the NHL, there top 2 lines will be very very good.

Also, didn't really like the Oilers deal, seemed like there were to many underachieving players and bloated contracts for Ottawa to take on.

But sucks for the Oilers, no solid franchise players want to play there. When they traded Doug Weight it was the end of anything the Oilers had going, that team has never been the same since then.

Heatley gave up on the oilers a long time ago. About time the oilers pulled there heads outta there asses and did the same. I cant believe that they actually sent him a video and were stupid enough to actually think it was gonna work. Heatley is from Alberta i believe, what can a video tell him that he didn't already know?

Edmonton gives up on Heatley? Yeah and I'm not playing for the Leafs next year, they had their chance.
