Oilers to Sign Jagr?

The Edmonton Journal is reporting that the Edmonton Oilers are close to signing Jaromir Jagr who has spent this season playing in Russia to a deal.

It is not reported how long any possible deal may be for or how much the deal may be worth however this move would be a big boost for the Oilers who have just lost Lubomir Visnovsky for the season. It is also noted that many people feel that Ales Hemsky would benefit from a highly talented player on his wing.

HTR would like to mention that Jagr would have to clear waivers before reporting the Oilers if an agreement was to be reached because he played the season in Europe. The likelihood of Jagr clearing waivers is very low at this point of the season as he would be considered to be a prime pickup for many teams leading into the playoffs.
