I agree with almost everything that you've said, except for the part about not trading with an eastern team. It could most defenitely happen. Like you said, as of right now, they're out of the race. "20-12-5 or somthing similar..." that's attainable, but in the east where the competition is high, that's a great feat to accomplish. I'm not trying to down Carolina, but that's hard. So I wouldn't rule out a trade with an eastern team.

I agree, we need someone to finish for Lindros. I've said this time and time again, Lindros has set up an uncountable number of quality scoring chances and plays down low and in key scoring areas, only to have Matt Barnaby and Chris Simon score 2 out of every 10 times, which isn't enough. O'Neill's speed and gritty play would help Lindros out, as he would be like Barnaby but much more skilled, and Simon could stay on his left. Even if that wasn't the case, give Carolina Nedved with his salary eaten, and he could work well with Anson Carter. Any change of scenery is going to do O'Neill good if you ask me.

Good points you've made, but I don't see Calgary messing with their team now. They've found a winning formula, and still have guys on the IR, so if anything, when Conroy comes back and they flop a little, then a trade could be made.

Gauthier is not going anywhere. For the last 3 years, I've heard his name on the mill every year, but yet, he hasn't moved a bit. Gauthier is apart of the best young defense corps in years, it wouldn't make sense to move him. People have brought up a point about Phaneuf coming up, which is a valid point, but Warrener, Gauthier, Lydman, Reghyr, Leopold, Phaneuf? That's scary, facing that core. They're big, can move the puck, are sound defensively, and last but not least... did I mention that they could hit like a ton of bricks?

I agree with you, but Kovalev to me is streaky, and I don't see him scoring big. I'm sorry, he couldn't handle NY, and 43 games in or however many we've played, I still don't believe that he can handle it here.

I'm sorry, but I feel that Lundmark should be traded. Jim Dolan is impatient, we all know this. He's also an idiot with an endless cashflow, literally. Dolan will tell Sather to go out and persue a big name star and stunt the youth's development. Dolan thinks that what works with the Yankees will work in the NHL. He tries to be like Steinbrenner. He's not even half of what that asshole is, and I hate Steinbrenner.

Ok i like the article good work. I may be way out in left field here but what about a possile trade with calgary. for one the flames could add a little scoring to their lineup if a real playoff push is in mind. The flames could make a push for Oneil in the way that they could get rid of Denis Gautier and maybe a 2nd round pick. In calgary they could move him to the wing once all our centers are healthy and we would have that 1st and 2nd scoring punch weve been looking for on a consistent basis.

I agree with you 110%...for the first time in a long time, the Rangers are battling back in games after being down and scoring late giving themselves a point and a shot at another. They outplayed Montreal badly last night, and how you botch a 2 on 0 is beyond me...Rucinsky should have sent it back to Nedved or Nedved should have came in on his own n put that in. Anyway, Tjutin I can't see being moved and like a few other Ranger fans have said, Lundmark's roll on this team has yet to be defined due to Sather jumping him around all over the place. Blackburn, as terrible as it sounds, might at some point because expendable depending on how Lundqvist(Swedish guy I think that's his name) plays...he's over in teh Swedish league right now and apparently is the #1 or #2 goaltender in the country. I just don't want to see Slats go out and make a trade to bring in another offensive guy mid season only to have him not make any impact til the following. Carter's starting to hit his stride, Lindros is showing signs of the guy from Philly we all hated, and Kovalev is startign to score. Now all we need is for these guys to start putting their opponents away early to stop a 6 years w/ no playoffs.

He might regain that drive to play on a contender, but I think he still has the drive. The guy just can't score this season just like a lot of goal scorers. If he did end up going to Jersey, his #s wouldn't jump up at all, but he would make a good fit. Did you mean Ahonen and a 3rd? I haven't heard anything about Ahron? If it were Ahonen, I highly doubt that the Canes would take that.
