Hockey Trade Rumors

Canada’s “Orientation Camp” which ended last Friday provided on lookers a glimpse of what could be the final team this February. Three seperate reports from three seperate newspapers basically agree on what the final roster will look like, based soley on last week’s camp.

With the recent outbreak of goaltending needs throughout the NHL it appears that some teams that are deep in that position may be willing to part with some of that talent for the right price.

A couple weeks have gone by since Slava Fetisov was selected to head up Team Russia but still the problems are growing with this team. Fetisov’s position hasn’t been made official yet, and now some players are wavering on their commitment to playing.

It is reported on ESPN.COM that disgruntled Washington Capitals center Adam Oates will report for training camp.

Could Potvin sing with the Blues? Jagr still needs a center line-mate by his side, is Hrdina still on the block, passing by is Zubrus? So many rumors on the Rangers, yet Sather makes them seem like useless ones, how so? Are the Caps having Oatmeal cereal for breakfast next week?

Alright Hawks fans, enough is enough. It is time for us to stand up to the horrid management that our beloved Hawks are run by.

Something that has always bothered me, is T.V. ratings for the NHL. In the U.S., hockey is a tough sell. It was reported that the XFL had higher ratings than the NHL last season. There is something wrong with this picture.

With training camps set to open up next week one has to wonder what exactly Ron Wilson and the Caps have in mind for their squad.

I’m not going to try and predict the final standings and points for every team in the league. Instead, I’m just going to give my opinions on who may surprise everybody and who could disappoint in the upcoming season based on their off-season moves.

The Carolina Hurricanes have locked up thier star center for six more years. Brind’Amour had 56 points last year good for 4th on the team, but he is better known for his leadership, tenacity and gritty play.

I’m sick of new people to the boards sending in these really off-the-wall standings and only giving one line to explain why they will end up that way. Let’s go in-depth about this and share our opinions and see how close we get.
