I was hoping that the Leafs would sign him back, but when they didn’t negotiate a contract with him at the end of last season, I wasn’t very optimistic.

Sadly, Peca is not as desireable as he once was, and as such, we don’t see him signed anywhere until the end of August…and by a team not even on everyone’s radar. This seems to be a growing trend in the salary cap era.

Well, it was great having him in Toronto. I just wish we could have seen more of him. Too bad he was injured…it would have been interesting to see if he could have helped the Leafs make the playoffs, and moreso, the role he could have played for them in the playoffs.
