Players that the Flames could try to pry out of Boston for Iginla

What kind of package it takes to land Iginla remains to be seen, but with longtime backstop Miikka Kiprusoff nearing the end, the Flames would certainly have keen interest in the B’s top goalie prospect, Malcolm Subban. Other trade bait could include forwards Alexander Khokhlachev and Ryan Spooner, and defensemen Matt Bartkowski, Torey Krug and David Warsofsky.

The 35-year-old Iginla, with 8-13-21 totals and a minus-7 in 29 games, is having a slightly better season than Morrow and has scored 31 goals or more in each of his last 11 seasons. The winger has a $7 million cap hit, and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The NHL trade deadline is April 3.
