Ponikarovsky out six weeks with shoulder injury

According to NHL official site, The Leafs placed Ponikarovsky on injured reserve with a shoulder dislocation and is expected to be out of the lineup for six weeks. Darryl Boyce was recalled on Thursday to fill the roster spot.

Boyce spent the entire season in the AHL. He has 24 points, including eight goals, and 71 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Toronto Marlies. He also has a plus-18 plus-minus rating. The native of Summerside, P.E.I., spent the last two seasons playing at the University of New Brunswick.

The Leafs ship continues to sink…

Good, the ship needs to sink. DEEP

Oh and sink it shall… Replace one and lose two – both Steen and Boyce left last night's game with shoulder injuries.  Steen should be fine shortly after the all-star break but Boyce will be out for a while.

Predictions anyone?  Who's next to be called up?  I hope either John Mitchell or Robbie Earl get their first taste next.  Leave Bates, Ling, Newbury, & Ondrus with the Marlies.  Give the kids a chance to experience the NHL and give them a glimpse of their possible future.
