Poti… The Rangers fans got only one thing to say about him… Nooooooooo Don’t Give him the PUCK!!!

Hope we will get Zidliky or Suchy before Poti…

  2. Les-Habitants says:

Tom Poti in Mtl? That wouldn’t be a bad signing, although the price is a little high I think.

Do you have a link for this, by any chance, or was it only presented on T.V.?

Ok. I just watched the TSN report on July 2nd by Bob Mackenzie. You can go to the AV section and watch it too. No mention of Poti and the Habs and he stated at the end he was going on vacation.

Why do people make up crap?

  4. paratonerf says:

Well I hope you’re right that this is indeed, bogus. What a TERRIBLE signing that would be…

  5. Les-Habitants says:

Man, I’ve only seen Poti play once or twice, and his stats are pretty decent but then I talked to a friend of mine who lives in NY, and he basically said “don’t do it!!” hmm…not exactly what I was hoping for.

Just sign Danny Markov, we don’t need another Brisebois (and that’s what he sounds like)

  6. dolphy says:

They should sign Eric Daze and Markov.

  7. Habfan1234 says:

I would take Dana Murzyn at his prime than Tom Cant-hit-cant-play-defense Poti. That would be a massive waste of money on a marginal defensman. The d-man they should really go after is Danny Markov as he plays tough, can skate better than Souray, and has some offensive upside. This would hopfully signal the end of Souray’s days as a Hab as he would probably be packeged in a deal with Zednik, Ribs, and/or Abby.

  8. Les-Habitants says:

Eric Daze, Eric Lindros…two big centers who could potential be the answer to the Habs problems or flops…

Eric Lindros probabley will stay in T.O., as he loves the place and wants to play there.

Eric Daze, if he can remain uninjured would be a great signing. He has the skills, but it’d be a huge risk signing him. He’d be, if it worked, the answer to missing out on Arnott.

You know what? I like the D-corp that we got, and Souray is a quality guy too. While I really want the addition of a 2nd Markov to the lineup, I dunno who I’d like to be the man out…but, like most have realized, Sourary has the most value due to his shot…but it’s still a point shot we need. He likes playing here, and I’d much rather deal Streit, despite his improvements, or Dandenaut then Sourary…I feel like he brings a lot more to the lockeroom. But then again, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we started out with this defensive corp., as they were most certainly not the fatal flaw of our team….

Just a final thought: a lot of people get mad at the Habs fan cause we apparently turned on players like Ribero, Zednik, and Theo. While I can’t speak for the rest of my commrades, let me give my take: Theo was a great goalie here, and I think he’ll rebound with the Avs, but he had too much baggage in Mtl and would have just been a sinking ship here. Ribero could come into his own still, but he just never plays with heart (or so it seems). While only rumors, it has been said that Gainey was continually frustrated with the effort level demonstrated by both Ribero and Zednik.

There ya have it, my take on the Habs. We love our players, don’t get me wrong, but we want them to want to play here. I mean, we are the Canadiens.

    Zidliky got resigned

  10. blarneylad says:

the habs do not need a guy like poti, especially for that price, holy shit is that wat it takes to sign a player in montreal, overpay ridiculously!?

  11. Mainer87 says:

Gainey wouldn’t waste money on garbage like Poti. I know he has something cooking up. He knows where the habs are going and he WILL get it done for us.

  12. blarneylad says:

exactly, we just have to be patient

  13. lesglorieux says:

if lindros ever shows up in the bleu blanc rouge, it will be a sad, sad day.

  14. mtl_prince says:

lets take an average defensmen(poti) and make him the highest paid defensmen, and like 3rd or 4th highest on the team, this posting is complete b.s.

  15. habsoverserver says:

    stop it.

elias, shanahan, st. louis, arnott, lecavalier, pronger, guerin, and most of all poti are not coming to montreal.

free agents rarely if ever want to come to a city where they have to pay high taxes and their kids can’t attend English schools.

  16. Les-Habitants says:

But they love it once they’ve played here…

I hope Eric Daze’s rehab from his last injury is going well and that maybe he can stay healthy. While I know it’s a real real long shot to hope for that, he is a Montreal native and had always said he’d love to play for the Habs. He’s awesome when he’s healthy…

    ah, one can hope.

  17. habsoverserver says:

They love playing here, but they can’t move their families to Montreal. If they have a 10 year old kid and only plan to stay here three years, what are they going to do – have them study in French for three years then go back to an English school? If a player has a family, Montreal schools are an issue.

Even Carbo decided to go back to Dallas for two years so his daughter could finish high school in English.

  18. rcichard03 says:

MTL sucks they still havnt made a move now quit making up these moves untill they happen no-one wants to come play for this crappy team anyways
