The Score quickly posted it on their ticker that there were reports coming out of Detroit that there was a 3 team deal close to being finalized. According to the report the trade would also include the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals. According to the report the trade would end up breaking down like this.

TO DETROIT: Olaf Kolzig, Karel Pilar and a 1st RD PICK in 2006

TO TORONTO: Henrik Zetterberg and Brendan Witt

TO WASHINGTON: Manny Legace, Nik Antropov and Ken Klee.

With the Rangers filling up most of their roster spots with Czech players... I dont know who I am going to root for come the Olympics if Team USA faces off against the Czech's?

He’s an upgrade over Poti defensively…Roszival is not a great defenseman, but I’d rather have him defending deep in my own zone over Poti right now. Hopefully Poti can be dealt. If that is the case, I am all for this signing. I’d rather have a defense by committee than have Poti playing 25 minutes a night. 27 is definitely not that young, but not that old either.

Rozival is an injury prone player who doesnt know how to play through pain. At least two separate coaches questioned his toughness and desire to play in the NHL during times of minor injury.

He is an offensive minded defensmen, he has a very hard shot from the point but his shot accuracy is that of a blind man.

He is inconsistant in his willingness to play physical, but when he does play physical he does play somewhat well in his own zone.

After coming off a string of injuries most Pens fan assumed that his less than spectacular NHL career was over. I'm surprised that any team would give him a shot.

Oh, yeah. But as a replacement for Poti, I think that would be fine. If you lay a stick on the ice by the left faceoff circle, that would be an improvement over Poti. It won’t get caught out of position as much, and could knock someone over.

I hope so. It will probably be forgotten after 2 preseason games and his rights knee goes again (for the 3rd time).

Having watched enough underperforming players play for the Rangers, I'd rather see a young kid with some real potential than a could-have-been, no matter what his age.

The only problem is, if he can play, Ranger coaching/management will probably put him in, just because he has NHL experience...even if a young call-up could fill in. They've done it that way for Sather's entire tenure.
