The point of this post? Are you bashing Rangers fans? Leaf fans? You need to be more obvious. I do miss posts like this though. However I think you forgot to mention the trade to Vancouver for Luongo. Rangers send a gift card for Wal Mart (expired) for the all-star goalie.

The line up looks like this

Forwards:

Hossa-Crosby-Jagr
Straka-Nylander-Shanahan
Malkin-Straka-Malkin
Crosby-Pronger-Jagr

Defence:

Pronger-Phillips-McCabe
Pronger-Crosby
Pronger-Luongo

Goalies:

Luongo
Malkin
I didn't see the Rangers/Senators game, so I'm asking those who did--how did Renney and Shanahan approach the officials on the overturned penalty call? I'm all for officials being upfront with the players and coaches on a close or questionable call. But, as most of us probably know from our own lives, the approach and attitude of the person wanting an answer can really affect the response. If someone under me at work comes and asks a question in a normal tone and in a polite way, I have no problem answering them. I'll probably be just as polite as they were. However, if someone comes running up, red in the face, and demanding answers, then that just puts me off. I really don't want to deal with such people. I might just brush them off, or maybe even be a little snide.

So, how did Shanny and Renney approach the officials? Even the ones who consistantly make questionable calls deserve respect.

Yet another very good Rangers analysis....I was wondering if I was the only one that saw Jagr take that hit. People who claim that Jagr is a wimp on the ice, can offically eat it, after that. Witt does not throw powder puff body checks.

It's been obvious that a trade needs to happen for a while now. I keep hearing about Tkachuk and Guerin, but I really hope that a deal is for another center. Playing Cullen full time on a third line would be good for just about everyone. Possibly help to justify his contract. Tkachuk would add some much needed viciousness, and Guerin possibly a bit more of a scoring touch, but the team really needs a playmaker for Shanahan to play with. Stumpel would be a nice short term fix. I'd like Morrison too, but I'm sure that I would like what Vancouver would want in exchange for him.

Although...the more I see games like last night, the more I think that going after Tkachuk would not be such a bad idea. A guy like that under the big lights in New York...he could definitely change the locker room chemistry, and that would be a very welcome thing with the team right now.

As for Jessiman....hmm. It seems to be that he was always a huge risk. I don't believe that Sather should have spent a first round pick on him...but hey, if Jessiman panned out, then it would make him look like a genius. As huge a kid as he is, I'd say to give him a little more time. Although I know that everyone is getting impatient with him, and its understandable. It would also be bad to see him squander his skills in the minors for his career. I do agree that throwing him headfirst into the fire, could be just what he needs.

The Rangers have a wealth of prospects. The only thing is that there are no true scoring threats in the system. I think most people would disagree with you about Montoya. Montoya has proven he has the talent to be a #1 in the NHL, just needs more seasoning. Dawes was only a fifth rounder, so how is he a bust? There is no such thing as a fifth round bust, plus he is still very young.

After Montoya there is Chris Holt who definitely has potential.
hockeysfuture.com has the Rangers rated as the #11 organization in terms of prospects ( Penguins #1).
How about the Rangers trying to get Zherdev from the Blue Jackets. He has been under performing and has a decent sized contract, he is worth trading for and putting on the second line, although I don't know what the package would consist of. Once again, I would like to express my hatred for Matt Cullen, a.k.a. the new Tom Poti- an albatross on the shoulders of the Rangers. I would love to see the Rangers have Prucha center Shanahan and someone else (maybe Zherdev?). I think Prucha should be given a chance to center instead of Cullen,; not because he has been so productive but because he is younger and more talented. Prucha deserves a try. Also woouldn't it be nice to have Petr Sykora right now, who could center the 2nd line. The same Petr Sykora that wanted to play for the Rangers above all else... instead we signed Cullen. Shame, shame, shame.

Here's a "Leaf-like" Rangers rumor-

Pronger once again wants to be traded and asked to be traded to the Rangers. Furthermore, Pronger insisted that the Ducks sell him to the Rangers for $5,000 and a copy of NHL95 for Sega Genesis. Pronger maintains that the aforementioned package will make up for his absence.

The Penguins in a last ditch effort to save the franchise have decided to sell Crosby and Malkin to the Rangers for Madison Square Garden. Little do the Penguins know that a new MSG is in the works, scheduled to open in 2009. A fair trade indeed.

Rangers will add Marian Hossa pulling the old bait and switch move using look alike Marcel Hossa. That Marcel sure is a team player.
(By the way on a serious note, Marcel is starting to look like Marian, just needs to learn to finish.)

After all these trades the Rangers lines will look like this:

Hossa-Crosby-Jagr
Straka-Nylander-Shanahan
Malkin-Crosby (clone #1)-Jagr (clone #1)
Malin (clone #1)-Crosby (clone #2)-Jagr (clone #2)

Pronger- Tyutin
Pronger (clone #1)- Pronger (clone #2)
Pronger (clone #3)-Pronger (clone #4)

Brilliant team
TOM RENNEY HAS NOT GIVEN EVERY PLAYER A CHANCE. He has kept the top line together for much too long.

Tell me if these players have had sufficient chances and ice time:

Immonen
Dawes
until two weeks ago: Pock
Baranka
Callahan
Hossa

Hossa I put up there because his role is limiting. I remember he bumped him up with Jagr in November and he had two assists. I think that was a comeback versus NJ if I'm not mistaking. And if you think about it, Marcel could even be a solid complement to Jagr. He has decent speed, can make some passes, but more importantly does have size and a bit of a physical presence. Hell he could even be a man in front of the net (sorely lacking in NY) on the PP. Straka could center them, and put Nylander with Shanny and Prucha?

Just a farfetched idea. And if I were Renney I would be open minded.
