Rasmussen dealt to Kings
The Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Erik Rasmussen from the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday in exchange for forward Adam Mair and a fifth-round choice in the 2003 NHL entry draft.

I think he is like a sparkplug player. A good fighter from what I have heard.
Buffalo fans you are getting a great player in Adam Mair, He is still young and he is getting better, The Kings and Leafs gave up on him too soon

Mair is a good prospect. I’m kind of bumbed he is gone. The kings have a lot of prospects that are similar though. The Kings really need to get more scrappy so hopefully Rassmessen will help in that regard. Sounds like an even trade…both teams getting what they need.

I’ve seen Mair play quite a bit, he’s got good size, is very physical and not afraid to drop the gloves. He doesn’t have alot in the way of offensive talent but he’s not afraid to stand in front of the net and take a beating to get the puck. He should be a sparkplug for the Sabers.
The reason the Leafs and Kings “gave up” on him, is because they needed players that could be on the roster all 82 games. So, they give up a player like Adam Mair. He’s not good “Zednik.” You have some good posts and comments, but you act like you know every players attributes.

Adam Mair is not one of those players that will ever amount to anything BIG.
No offense to Mair, but I think this is a great deal for the Kings. Rasmussen plays a rough and tumble game and is tough in the corners. The Kings are really starting to develop a well-rounded team and Rasmussen should fit in really well. He’s big, he led the team in hits last year and he’s capable of 30-40 points a year.
Adam Mair probably aspires to be a Rasmussen-type player and he probably will be in time. Right now he is cheap and that is all the Sabres care about right now. Will there be a firesale in Buffalo?
Mair could turn out to be a steal, but he wasn’t doing much for the Kings. At least in Rasmussen they get a guy they know will be playing for them for the full season.

I don’t watch the Sabres much, I find them a boring, no-star team. But all I heard from this Rasmussen kid is that he is one of the laziest players in the League.
That’s why you found the Sabres boring. About 5 or 6 players are just too lazy. They already got rid of 2 in Kozlov and Rasmussen and acquired more grittier players in Mair and Hecht and Regier already said he is going to trade more. Expect Wooley and others to be dealt.
You know what would be great??? If we traded Wooley and Connolley and a pick or two to Minnesota for Gaborik.

This trade isn’t anything major, however is a great deal for LA.
Obviously Rasmussen was acquired to fill the hole Kelly Buchberger left when he went to Phoenix. For that role specifically, you have to think this trade was a steal for LA. They got exactly what they needed to fill a hole…I wouldn’t equate this with any of the major deals in the NHL, however it is small moves like this that build winners…
The Oilers would love McKee, but they would probably settle for Warrener if he was available. Unfortunately, the Sabres fans are right, we should wake up from our dream.

They traded Mair for a player that didn’t become one of top 4 defenceman on the Leafs, and on that defence it shouldn’t have been hard. Mair will never amount to anything big. . . well considering he is 23 and a pretty big guy you are not giving him much credit. Here is a player who in the minors can pot about 50 points in even though he doesn’t play a full season (maybe half of one) because he is being called up and gets about 110 PIM. He plays big, He can shoot he can pass and he fights. SO yes he is good he has shown more potental at his age then alot of players who made it big in the NHL. give him a few more years. Maybe you should watch him play a few games before you knock him. And Pat quinn burying him on line four doesn’t count.

Where else are you going to but an AHLer? On the first line with Sundin??? I have watched Mair play…jumping off the bench and getting suspended for 10 games is a very smart move isn’t “Z.” Looks like that Kyle McLaren hit still has your brains messed up.
