Rather than screaming “Boy, the Leafs are lame, having a Cup parade without winning.”, look again. Last time I checked, it was the Hockey Hall Of Fame that decided to haul the Stanley Cup out for the movement parade.

The only problem I have with this article is that you could only come up with 4 reasons. You truly must live in the states. If you lived in Canada and had to watch all the Leafs fan foolishness and propaganda, I promise you that you could come up with plenty more. And I am in no way a Red Wings fan, but out of respect for you pissing off so many Leafs fans, I have to say “Go Wings Go!” At least they have laurels to rest on. (Unlike the overrated Leafs)

The high sticks are another problem in the NHL. The article was about why people hate Toronto and I stated my opinion about that. If you want to talk about players that shouldn't be in the NHL because of their cheap shots how bout Peter Worrell? He's up there with Tucker and Domi. I don't really like Barnaby or Simon either.

The high sticks prove the fact that players have no respect for one another anymore. It's a shame. Hockey used to have more fights, but I'm sure there wasn't as many eye injuries and head injuries as there are now.

look at the replays…they’re perfectly clean. It’s not his fault that people like Lindros put their head down while they’re crossing the blue line with a puck! That’s one of the first things you learn in hockey.

This coming from a flyer fan, I guess I don't have to remind you that the flyers haven't done jack since the early seventies. I never heard you say the flyers would win the cup though Chris, just a knock to a knowlegable flyer fan that can take it.

You know teams go through these little spells.

I have to admit, I do hate the Leafs. But I can also admit that I haven't always hated them. The reason for that is that when I used to watch hockey in the 80s and early 90s, even up until the mid 90s, the Leafs were just not worth the energy. Hating them then would be like hating the Blackhawks now. What would the point be?

Therefore I can conclude that one of the main reasons I hate the Leafs is that they are good. Wait, that is probably a falsehood. It is actually because they do well, and have been doing well for the past 6 or 7 years. I would suggest that others probably hate them at least partly for this reason as well.

OK, so is that it? Well no. I don't hate the Red Wings, or the Devils or the Avalanche. It must be something else.

While I can assure you that obnoxious fans aren't lessening my hatred, it is not because of them. I can accept that the real Leafs fans are good people, who know hockey. I met some of them in the lean Leaf years. I can accept that the real jerks will be off the bandwagon as fast as they got on, as soon as the Leafs miss the playoffs.

What I hate about the Leafs are the Leafs. The players, their style, their whining, their posturing, their ugly mugs, the chips on their shoulders. The team is built with a certain type of player in mind. The Pat Quinn/Don Cherry worshipping meathead. And if they can't find em they convert em, see Mats Sundin. Those jerks sicken me.

Also, things like the Stanley Cup in a parade, the expanded Leafs Hall of Fame with players from other teams (soon to include Brian Leetch, Phil Housley, Ron Francis, Joe Nieuwendyk), the Toronto centric media, etc. piss me off too. But would probably go under the radar were it not for the Darcy Tuckers and Wade Belaks of the world.

The Sens were never considered the best team on paper until this year. But anyways, the Leafs are always called a team that is "built for the playoffs" but they haven't won anything yet.
