Redden In, Chara Out!
Report in the Ottawa Sun today says that Wade Redden has agreed to terms on a contract with Ottawa and will likely announce the deal before the end of the season. Chara on the other hand will test the open market. There has been lots of speculation that Chara will end up with the New York Rangers, but I’d say that is just Glen Sather trying to get into the heads of the Senators before the playoffs and give the Sens something extra to think about by adding a divisive issue to the team, the media and the fans.
I think it would be hard for Chara to turn down the Max contract he will be offered. He is great friends with Eric Brewer so those two might want to play on the same team (St. Louis?)
I think Chara wants to be a Captain of a team, and i think he’ll end up in Phoenix with Gretzky, 7 million per season and a C on his jersey.
