RFAs qualified, Cullimore and Salmelainen waived

Courtesy of RDS and Canadiens.com:

Michael Lambert was not given a qualifying offer, and has now become a free agent.

With June 25th the deadline to qualify players, the Montreal Canadiens qualified 13 of their RFAs:
goalie Yann Danis, defensemen Andrew Archer, Mathieu Biron, J.P. Cote, forwards Michael Ryder, Tomas Plekanec, Jonathan Ferland, Corey Locke, Duncan Milroy and Cory Urquhart.

Although pursuing their careers abroad, Andre Benoit (Finland) and Alexander Perezhogin (Russia) also recieved qualifying offers, meaning the Habs retain their NHL rights for the coming year.

Additionally, both Jassen Cullimore and Tony Salmelainen have been placed on waivers.
FYI: it should be noted that the first step in both the buy-out process and demotion to the AHL requires the player to pass through waivers.

Gainey has already announced his intention to buy-out Cullimore, but had said he was unsure about Salmelainen…I wonder if he will be demoted or bought out….
