Eklund actually played it smart this year as he just gathered information from the major media outlets and a few of his own sources and put it on his site. The Richards deal was set, and I believe most people knew it for a while, which is why Eklund reported it so early, but the media outlets (ie. Tsn) did not break it until Brad Richards was actually approached about his no trade clause. This year Eklund was not attempting to break trades like he's done in the past.

Leafs fans:

Think about this trade. Richards agreed to waive his NTC. The Lightning are much better off now. And Richards will not return anyday soon to them.

Imagine what the Leafs could have gotten for Sundin, and maybe even had him back next year... opportunity definitely missed!

So far only Belak traded.... something else HAS to be coming.. Stajan and Wellwood maybe?

Look at the article written before. Eklund is a thief and a fraud. He just steals from other credible people.

According to Bob Perno who was on the air at CKAC radio, Brad Richards has been traded to Dallas and the trade should be announced around 1pm today.

Please please please please don't chalk this up to Eklund being right. He has done this before where someone else has reported it and he claims to be the first, even though he just steals it from someone else. Other people on this site have already proved this.

Now on to the real news...

WOW... Dallas wins big here I think. I mean I guess absorbing his massive contract worked against the Lightning... but Mike Smith better become a true number 1 goalie, cause Jeff Halpern is a has been... Jussi Jokinen and his potential must have been the deal breaker. He had a great rookie season and is a shootout expert, but this being his 3rd year his rookie season is looking to be his best. I wonder if he can find new life in TB.

TB and Dallas have agreed on the deal depending whether Richards agrees to waive his NTC.
