RUMOURS DU JOUR

Isles GM Garth Snow has been busy working the phones. Sources say he’s trying to move LW Blake Comeau, who was pointless in eight games going into Saturday. He’s making $2.5 million this season and is a looming RFA in July. Not sure if Comeau is in the doghouse of coach Jack Capuano, but nobody should be happy with Comeau’s start coming off 46 points last season. The Isles may also be shopping for a second-line centre.

C Frans Nielsen is set to become a UFA in the summer and after making $550,000 this season, the 27-year-old will want to cash in on his success … Leafs GM Brian Burke is one of the few trying peddle a blueliner. He’s willing to move D Cody Franson, the club’s seventh defenceman who has suited up for only three games this season and is minus-4 …

People in Columbus must be wondering how much more they’re going to have to endure before there’s a GM/coaching shakeup with Scott Howson and Scott Arniel. The club is off to a 2-10-1 start, captain Rick Nash has pulled a disappearing act on the ice, the goaltending is awful and the defence is bad. In the face of one of the worst starts in NHL history, Nash bravely told the Columbus Dispatch: “The players here love what we’ve got, management, coaches … everyone’s very excited and very happy with what we have and we wouldn’t want to lose it.” Maybe it’s time for the Jackets to consider trading Nash.

If any team had even the slimmest chance at getting Nash they should jump on it. I don't really buy all this talk of shipping him out. Though he doesn't much look like it right now, he is absolutely an impact player. His size and skill will keep him in the NHL for a long time, and likely in a relatively important role.

Although someone commented earlier comparing him to Super Joe in Boston. Yes, it hurt them in the short term, but the Thorton-less-Bruins are now champions. Still, I don't think I'd do it.

Ya Nash could still be a horse, but i think Clb has him wearing out from riding a one horse team.

  3. HockeyThoughts says:

Malkin for Nash. Pens can use Staal as their 2nd line centre, and when Sid is back, their top 6 would be great.

I heard that the Blue Jackets have took the "C" from Nash does this and with the jackets not getting done lead to a Trade with Nash on his way out??

COME ON LEAFS PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER AND PULL THE TIGGER ON THAT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mind citing a source on your heard they took the C away from Nash bit?

If they did who did they put it on? Kristian Huselius? The Wiz?
Anyone else in Columbus i can name? I don't think there is so this "source" has more holes in it then my gym socks from grade 12.
I hate to say it but I love the fact that Columbus is having a terrible season it draws attention away from the Isles as "the joke of  the NHL" for a change.

Bozak and a 3rd for Comeau and Nabokov

    alternate plan:
